Title: Hey Coco Mac NED 1.3 version available
Post by: *DAMN Mauti on December 28, 2003, 05:00:49 pm
Hi Coco,

I hope you are fine. I just want to let you know that I have finished the Mac conversion of NED 1.3. You can get it here (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/macmods/grtotalconversion.shtml#newsitems1072365903,83466,).

The Mac version is 261.3MB large(almost 70MB larger than the PC version) due the fact that .aif files are a little bit larger than the .wav files you use for the PC version. However it is as usual a 1:1 conversion of yours and DTD's great NED mod.

Have a nice day,

Mauti

I noted a bug latley and I think it's not due an conversion fault.

So Coco may you can help me. If you select the specialist Clouder the game immediatly crashes. Looking at the lke.log shows that it searches for the recce_desert.chr. This .chr isn't included in your mod and so I tried to find the actor that uses this .chr. I made a multiple file search but no actor file uses it. It seems to be a "ghost" file. Any advice? Does this bug also occur on the PC side?

Thanks and a happy new year,

Mauti

The recce character "clouder" doesn't have any trouble in the pc version that I have seen. The chr files are recce.chr, recce_a.chr, and recce_b.chr. There's no desert version of this character and it's only in the regular GR specialist roster. I have noticed that the game may indicate missing desert files for characters in the IKE file, but unless the character was a standard roster character that could be ignored.

The specialist actor files should indicate the face tex and models and doesn't have to have the standard, desert and jungle ones like the standard roster guys do. But I am not sure if the mac version differs in this way.
