*DAMN R6 Forum

Hosting in RvS sucks big time, so much that i cant figure out anything. Can't change map without restarting server, can't change settings...
So if someone could write a comprehensive tutorial of the basics, eg. i heard you have to write something in the console?? Any help would be much appreciated

how is the the game besides hosting? player view? senerios? better than GHR?

I am an admin for a dedicated server my clan runs, so I am not sure if these will help those who run off of their machines only.

My tip for you would be to load all of the maps into your rotation when you first start the server up. The key admin console commands you ought to know for your cind of hosting are as follows:

To change your map to another map (this is why I said load all of the maps into the rotation), use the command: map [mapname]  (with mapname being the map you want to change to)

playerlist (assigns numbers to the players to go along with their names - this makes it easier to boot/ban those with strange symbols in their names)

kick [name]
kickid [id number from above]
ban [name]
banid [id number from above]

restartround (reloads current map that you are on, wiping all stats clean)

These should be the only necessary commands for running your sever, hopefully it helps.

Better then Ghost Recon? Are you serious??? Ghr truely is the worst game Ive ever played. And I only realized this once I played other games like Americas Army and Raven Shield.

Another thing I'll disagree with, GhR was the best game I ever played (yes even better than R6) Why? I guess because I had the most fun playing it, and I played it even longer than any other game. GhR got boring and that changed my view, I don't like it anymore because it was the same old same old stuff, just like any game.

I finaly came out of a hole and wrote something about serving on the mp site. I'm sure there are things i forgot, or don't know about.

Ah Jeb thnx for the info.  After a bit of fooling around with hosting, it's pretty clear now.
And silly me thought you could only play the MP maps in multiplayer ;).

If I ip host  a game tru RvS  the console switching works like a charm, however if I try to host tru Gameranger the console switching doesn't work at all ?  GR bugg ?
