Title: Online gaming predicted high in 2002.. Post by: Destructo on January 11, 2002, 02:18:29 pm According to my Rogers.com start page...
The say that 2002 is "THE YEAR OF ONLINE GAMMING!" as broadband internet and the new gamming consoles take online gamming mainstream!...i can understand that, and i could see it comming, like for example, my PS2 having an iLink port, USB hookins, and an fuckin Expansion Port out back...etc etc i can't wait to pay more unreal prices to play my friend down the street "online" can't u?...give me a break.... I myself am a big fan of online gamming, the main reason that it is free..all u have to have is the game and a good quick hook-up..that's understandable.....but now with all these consoles comming out with it, were gonna have to pay, pay, pay and pay... don't get me wrong, it's a great direction to go, and it's a fantastic idea, and sony and microsoft are gonna make a killing, but to me online gamming is sacred to my computer.... 1. U will never be able to place a shot or guide your game better then ur mouse...try placing an accurate, quick HS from the top of the balcony in the met with a PS2 Analog stick....no way.. 2. Online gamming takes so much more to run then a PS2 or XBox can muster i think....ya they are quick consoles running like 300Mhz with a pretty good frame rate, but so much more goes into getting the actual connection and keeping it steady and in RS case somewhat smooth, and in TO, very smooth...i feel unless u have a broadband server in yer basement, the console gamming will be so much sluggish, mainly because u don't have as much control to fix problems, and tweak things...(if i was technical, i would go into the tech, but i can't.) 3. Online gamming is all about communication....are u suppost to spend half an hour searching for the letters to type "Look out!"....lol...10 bucks says both consoles are gonna come out with a keyboard and mouse... there are many more points i wish to share...but i won't. I just feel that those console ppl are gonna "invade our turf" both PC's and MAC's...is nothing sacred to my keyboard and mouse anymore? it makes me cry...it really does, and I can feel my Mac's sadness, from her sluggish performance as i write this post....There is nothing like staring straight into your 17 inch Mac display as u take a fucker down, or the feeling of playing online into the wee hours of the morning, with no light except the glow of your screen, and no sound but the crackle of your Motorola HD...your mouse an extention of your arms, as u move swiftly throught he level, meeting a chilling with players all over the world, as a team or as a whole...i think i'm gonna break into tears... :( We never invaded the console area...y do they have to invade ours? If i am gonna have no life like all of my fellow gamers, i'm gonna have it online, gamming with my fuckin computer baby!!!!! hitting targets 100 yards out with the precision of my mouse!!!!!!....eventhough my comp crashes every once a a while. ;)...hey, computers have bad days too... as rocky would say: "Addddddddrrrrriiiiiiiiiaaaaaaaaannnnnnnneeeeeee!!!" If u get the chance, give ur computer a hug and a soft kiss....she deserves it...all the hard work she does for your enjoyment... i think i;m gonna hug and kiss my whole mac setup, then i'm gonna kiss my car too...cause she is just as important.... material things have feelings to u know! *tear/sniff*...dest Title: Re: Online gaming predicted high in 2002.. Post by: Bondo on January 11, 2002, 03:13:41 pm From the title I thought some game like Bongerman Online was being made. ?Imagine the possibilities, hanging out in a bar in amsterdam with people from around the world getting a virtual high. ?Finally a reason for the smell producing device that they have in Japan to be released around the world. ?Yes, Online gaming will truly be high this year.
Oh, I see, high as in popular, well...I'll be playing RtoCW and Halo on the Mac and I own the GCN which doesn't really have online plans so there is only one source for me. I think the side of the box or one of the manuals that came with it said that an accessory 56k modem will be available in the near future.
as for dest, is that $10 US or canadian? ?;D Title: Re: Online gaming predicted high in 2002.. Post by: Destructo on January 12, 2002, 07:03:02 pm asssasssassasssin:
