Does anyone else play an instrument....other then the skin flute/beef whistle that many of u play?...

I play guitar....if anyone needs guitar help...post here...

or have any songs u want to reccommend etc etc....my fav band is proably Bad Religion....

Until spring I had played French Horn for 9 years.  I was *DAMN good until I got braces, than I was just damn good.  The French Horn btw, is one of the most difficult instruments to play.  How many of you played classical music with your intruments, that is another question I'd like to see.  (Piano wusses, put your hands down).

I can play stairway to heaven....that's considered classical...lol ?;D

anyone have any songs they need a help figuring out? :P

btw, if u ever get to the point where u don't know what to d/l off of aimster or whatever...i reccommend

I was listening to incubus 7 years ago....so stfu....them and deftones....

i didn't sell out...they fuckin did...so don't talk to me about being a sell out...and i'll play stairway long and loud as i want...and plus u could not tell me if u were a struggling band like they were and a company came to u with a big pile of money u would not accept....I applaud them that they finally are getting the recognition they deserve, and the money that comes with it...Incubus plays the same type of music now they played 7 years ago...exactly....they style has not changed.

so don't give me this "i'm all about the music shit"...cause like every other thing in the world, it's a business....and unless u bootleg everthing u own, your buying into it.

If something catches your ear Ace, and u like it, are u gonna turn yourself off to it because they "make money form thier music?"...i think not...

Yes, I know full well about Incubus' old music, their good music. They fucking sold out, and there is no two ways about it. Their style has totally changed; they went soft to sell more records, plain and simple. I sure as hell wouldn't become a little pussy just so I could make it on some gay MTV countdown and get little 13 year old girls to buy my record. Yes it may be a business, but it doesn't mean I'm going to lose all respect for them.

I'm pretty damn sure I understand. My favorite band is AFI. They have been playing their music since 1992. They haven't changed their style. They have been getting bigger and bigger solely by continuing to kick ass and having the greatest live show I have ever seen. Understand that biatch.

I'm pretty sure everyone has one area of their music tastes that others dislike but they fine good.  Mine is Pop and I have no problem saying it.

Nirvana's "Smell's like teen spirit" is a good guitar piece, but you dont get the full feel for the song unless you have drums going.

The drums in "Smells Like Teen Spirit" are fucking awesome. That and "Rock and Roll" from Zeppelin are easily the two best drum songs.

And Bondo, say it ain't so. NSYNC, Spice Girls?!?! That's just wrong man.

I'm a BNL fan from when they used to play the bars around my university.  Talk about a great live show!  That, and I've always like SKA and a little folk (aka Paul Simon when he was with that other guy... Art somebody.. hehe)  I actually have a lot of Christopher Franke (with and without Tangerine Dream) and some classical.  My favorites would have to be BNL, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Peter Gabrial, and maybe old, old old REM.

Well Grift, the Spice Girls do have a song called Naked if that makes any difference.  Also, I have 2 BNL CDs as well so we have a common music interest.  Seeing as Ska and Swing music is somewhat similar that could be another.  Like I said, my taste in music is fine outside my weakness.   :-[

I would have to say AFI, AC/DC, and Rage Against The Machine are my 3 favorite bands. I basically like almost any kind of rock from classic rock to metal to punk to alternative. No rap except for the Beastie Boys cuz, well, they kick ass.

I'm not sure what kind of fight you're trying to pick with piano players Bondo, but I play classical on both piano and trumpet, not to mention jazz, swing, rock, blues, ragtime, pop, and almost anything else....

Also, I will post for *DAMN Croonerb here because he probably won't  himself - 8)

He is lead singer (I think) in the band HB Radke and the Jet City Swingers, which has been mentioned on the DAMN site before.  Their music is pretty good, I think their website is at:

Hehe, the reason I said pianists should keep their hands down is because playing piano, while difficult (I don't have the split brain power needed to play with both hands), I don't consider it amoung the same level as wind instruments with the French Horn being the most difficult (and largest ranged) of the bunch.  Perfect coordination of mind, lungs, lips, and fingers are necessary and any slight difference and it is ruined.  While many other winds have these same parts, they don't need to be a precise as they don't share valve combinations as much.

As I once learned to play Piano, Drums (yes yes, full percussion) and Trombone, I have to say, I always thought the Obo was supposed to be one of the hardest to play (those double reeded buggers).

Also, do the bag pipes count??  Nothing as stirring as the sound o the pipes on a foggy mornin'.  "we 'ave a pipper down.  I rrepeeet, we 'ave a piperrrr down."

You know, in the olden days the French Horn didn't have valves, all the pitch changes were done completely with the lips and with the bell hand.  More reasons the Horn is the hardest Brass instrement is that it has the smallest mouthpiece and has less valve combinations which means more precision in lip setting is needed.  While all double reed instruments are harder than their single variety cousins, they still don't match the horn. (Strings and Purcussion don't come close to being the hardest, all it really takes is nimble fingers or good timing respectively).

You guys have no clue. The right-handed guitar is easily the hardest instrument to play. Only one man, Jimi Hendrix, has ever played it properly. And let me tell you, when played properly, there is nothing better than it.

Ace, I'll have to agree with you on that guitar issue.. except.. while I don't really like his music, I have to agree that his guitar playing kicks ass.. Yngwie J. Malmsteen. The one and only guitar god.

Jimi is definitely one of my favorite, while he played with definite skill, he was not the most skilled guitarist.

Actually, I think that Edge is one of the best guitarists of all time.. hehe.. not..

Well, good thing Toronto is close to the good ol' USA... because when I saw BNL at the Air Canada Center November of 2000 (Row 1, Seats 1&2 no less) it was a sold out show.  So either 20+ thousand (not sure how many the Air Canada Center holds) americans must have all contributed to the Canadian economy that weekend... either that or there are quite a few Canadians that like BNL... hehe.  

I think the Canadians just got pissed when BNL did a whole tour without one Canadian stop.  Funny, they start and end their tour in Detroit quite often.... which is fine, we'll take them.

A couple of months ago i was given free tickets to go see U2 in Hamilton, and while we were waiting for the show to start, the fat drummer from the bare naked ladies walked by us with probably one of the hotteset girls i have ever seen..(money sucking wench)....anyways, the fat drummer, in his fatness, was wearing a conbination tight jacket with tight pants, which i might add were PURPLE VELVET...with these pointy little black shoes....(gay!)

Mind u being the arrogant bastard I am, i had to screm "Nice outfit u Douche-bag"....but he kept walking by...i KNOW the fat bastard heard me...

also, from all the drumming he does, don't u think he would be in shape and skinny?.... :o

Well... as long as he had the hottest looking woman there on his arm, I think he wins, no matter how big his belly or outragous his cloths.... after all, the prize was already on his elbow.

Also, that was probably his wife.  She is quite the hotty from the pictures I've seen.
