Who the hell made the mod update frostbite 1.3
I can't use the old weapons now. It's completely buggy. DO SOMETHING.
I'll switch back to 1.2

The conversion was done by Tim Leary but as far as I can see he did everything correct BUT Frostbite 1.3 has some internal changes by default you have only the original weapons you have to switch Kit Resistrictions to "Frostbite No Resistriction" then you can play with your all Frostbite and original weapons.

yesterday a BTS guy (sorry don't remember his name) hosted Frostbite games.
He had IT and Frostbite 1.1 (as it appear in the joining chat window).

He switched to "Frostbite only no restriction". I was able to choose the weapon in the pre-game interface but during the game i had another weapon.

I reinstalled Ghost Recon & Frostbite 1.0 -> 1.1 but it failled.

lol it's fucked up i don't know where.

the download of frostbite 1.3 offers me a different kind of install then 1.1

and if i use 1.1 and try the campaign with the radar-map or if i use the radar-map in mp ghost recon crashes at my mac

some hints out there, please ?  ;)

I noticed the same on SignTist's host. Well I also hosted FB 1.3 without any troubles and further all weaps appeared correct. I think he had the games in the reverse order activated so it doesn't work properly.

@ Recon: play with verson 1.3 and all issues should be fixed.

ok, back now, was no time earlier

1.3 is a bit strange for me to install

how is the right install of update 1.3

cuz if i unzip it i have folders, and the things in the folders are different a bit as in the fullversion of frostbite

sorry about this "mabye thumb" question, but i dont wanna reinstall after reinstall ;)

and thx for the mod, I LOVE IT, very good work at all, guys . . .  ;D

Well download the original FB mod then get the 1.1 update. The updater autodetects your FB folder and overwrites all necessary files. Then start the 1.1 - 1.3 updater. This one wasn't created by myself so the interface is a little bit different: Just point the installer to your Frostbite folder and press install. That's it now you can start GhR and activate FB(along with IT).

if you are that redhead from vienna on that fotostory from some gr-player which is posted here, then greetingz from an old austrian/tyrolean which is living in cologne yet, in my military time i was stationed at "fliegerhorst brumovsky" in langenlebarn/tulln, it was one of the greatest times in my life, lots of fun in a "flugabwehr-battalion with oerlikon-equipment and huge double-guns for the "bad austrian bombers"

and i will enver forget the wiener-wald and the great "heurigen" there *LOOOL*

damn good forum, damn good work, again and forever . . .  ;D

argh - im damned

after a fresh download now of all components and 2 hours later of several tryings (clean mod folder etc.) and following your hints i have the same crash if i wanna go on campaign or MP of the radar map

maybe its my machine ?

g4-350mhz - 1 gig ram, radeon 32 mb

but hell, i can play the huge DAM-map too  ::)

argh - im dying

However back to your problem. It seems like you try to play Frostbite without Island Thunder activated which is required to play Frostbite that would also explain your crashes.

i havent any island thunder yet for my mac

but i try to test frostbite without any mod or map in the mod-folder now;)

you will hear my screams of joy or anger *LOL*

you cant imagine how long i dont see any puch500  ;)

then i will move the frostbite into the mod section and i will try it again

damn, all other maps of frostbite functions, only the radar-map bugs me  :o

That's because the Radar map uses the BlackHawk from IT and when you try to load it Ghost Recon quits back to desktop. Just get IT and everything will work as it is supposed to be.

if i have it i have to copy the mp2 folder to my mac, can i read the pc-island thunder cd also on my mac ?

then running the patch and all is fine ?

something is not right with this mod and ghost recon.
i am not saying that =F= TIM LEARY DID BAD JOB at all. he just converted so the bug must be in the original PC file. Maybe it is not compatible with Ghost Recon 1.4 update 1.0.3 for game ranger... well.

I remember using Fristbite 1.1 with old Ghost Recon (upate 1.0.2) and it worked.
Only the multiplayer part of the game is screwed up though.

hey goonk sorry to hear you are having problems with that.   It's been working well here for quite a lot of people, which doesn't help you much... but it tells me there's something wrong...  Mauti is the man and it is very odd you still have troubles.      I've been using it since before the last update to Ghost Recon and haven't found any conflicts.

Actually. I have used Tim Leary's Frostbite 1.3 updater weeks ago, I just installed into a blank directory and did a manual replace, and it works perfectly.

It is not the installer, it is the user, in this case.

the problem appears to other friends as well.
When they host, they can choose the weapons, but guests always have the AK74 with binoculars or something. And in the soldier selection i have 4 rifleman, 4 snipers, 4 support & 4 demo.

It's completely screwed up. I see a sniper skin guy and it says "demo expert" and i can pick M4 even if the skin guy is still holding a sniper gun. Very funny. Well, i forget Frostbite, but i remember it was fun to play.
I may go back to Ghost recon 1.0 to test...

I know the first problem of which you speak, if it is getting binoculars instead of sensors - that is not a frostbite 1.3 problem at all - I have seen it elsewhere.

There's definitely something wrong with how things were installed or modded.  I suggest going back to default kits and weapons for  Origmiss/mp1/mp2.

Problem 2 that you mention sounds also like a bad installation or custom modding of kits and weapons.

It only takes one wrong or illegal character sometimes in a modded weapon or kit to throw something out of whack.

That's all I can think of since I have seen similar to this before and heard of it - but i don't experience it at right now as I don't mod my kits/weapons any more.  There's also  dozens of people I've hosted for that don't have a problem either.

I dunno really.  I think all the bases have been covered.   Updating from 1 to 1.1 then 1.1 to 1.3 and pointing my manual installers to the right place....    

Perhaps the best thing  is for somebody to combine all the updates together and offer a full 1.3 version download.

1) i am not using a single moded weapon/kit/hero/mission
2) i have been using a newly installed ghost recon. I haven't used a single file from my old ghost folder. I had to set my preferences/keys again... and i updated it to the latest version (updater 1.0.3 furnished by game ranger). Then i installed Frostbite (i downloaded it again from the official frostbite site which links to the DAMN R6 version by the way). Then i updated it to 1.1 then 1.3.
note that either 1.1 or 1.3 have problems in hosted games.

Did you also experience the same issues on other Frostbite hosts than Sturm's one!?

Where only the weapons selection affected or also the camo selection!? Did it show 8 different camo's per player class(rifleman, support,...)?

i have now island thunder for mac

i reinstalled all, placed Mp2 in the modarea and then i started

after playing island thunder i reinstalled frostbite and updated it

CAMPAIGNS dont function

other stuff as quickgame or MP functions well

but not a single campaign - doh

Mauti, if you read your previous posts in this thread you state that it was SignTist's host which had the Frostbite inconsistencies.  I have rarely (only twice) hosted at all--and have never hosted Frostbite (although I love it)!!!!!  I assume you are just mixing the top two GhR idols around, lol!  Have a good one Mauti--I'll see ya on GR,

i played it one time trough, but i used the {DTD_IDF}-mod, instead of the weapons, i luve them, afterwards frostbite doesnt function

now i play again with a clean mod-folder

no mods, only DS, IT and Frostbite is in the folder now

i post here if im through again the next few days, thx

and inbetween im waiting for your thoughts i reinstall frostbite and test vers. 1 without an update, then i will make one update, testing, and at least i will update the last version per hand without an installer and then lets see :)

Hmmm. It seems that it can't find your blackhawk down model located in your MP2 folder. Look at your Ghost REcon Data/mods/MP2/Model/ folder if there is a file "v_blackhawk.pob". If it's not there this is the reason why your game crashes.

The other alerts can be ignored and doesn't make your game crash.

it is still there where it should be

if i play island thunder i get always the intro with the blackhawk before each new campaign

i did three complete new installs now, maybe try a fourth one ?

No. There must be a fault somewhere else than in your IT conversion(but you say it works so ARG) because here FB works great. I just tried it yesterday and no troubles playing the first mission.

To sum up: your IT is working, you have the mods activated with Desert Siege on top of the list, then IT and then FB.

One last thing you can try is to delete the frostbite/map/radar_base/radar base.sht file. That could also be responsible for unknown crashes and the file will be generated on the fly again once you run the mission.
