Thy for help Cya Guys Title: Re:Question about G5 and AA 1.9 Post by: kami on September 29, 2003, 10:12:57 pm When playing any of those games with a G5, only a broad smile is appropriate, I do not know about the details (FPS counts).
Title: Re:Question about G5 and AA 1.9 Post by: Jeb on September 29, 2003, 10:23:31 pm I have a 1.6 with a radion 9600 (and only 256megs of ram) and i can play AA1.9 on high detail(not highest) at 1024x768 at on average 40-45fps on a few maps, but i haven't played it that much. I'm sure when i put more ram in this it will go up. Also there are some bad graphical glitches on bridge for me, i dunno what thats all about.
Title: Re:Question about G5 and AA 1.9 Post by: KoS.Rebel on September 29, 2003, 11:08:53 pm I dont own a G5 but i do know that you will get around 45-55 FPS on most indoor maps. On my dual g4 i get 30-60 indoors. On maps such as Mountain pass, Mountain Pass SE, and Mountain Ambush you will probably get anywhere between 20-35. Thats my bet but if you want nice FPS get a pc unfortunately.....on maps where i get 10-20 fps pc's are getting 250-400 fps. Sucks because when they ported AA to mac they did a poor job and left the mac to process most map info while on PC the map info was allready processed allowing it to get way higher fps then macs. Sucks to be us.

Decals, 1600x1200 Resolution. G5s? 1.6? 1.8? Dual 2.0? Single 3.0GHz P4, 1GB RAM, 128MB ATi 9600: 100-200 fps, all graphics on Ultra High, Max Decals, 1024x768 Resolution. I honestly can't tell the difference in the frame rates between my G5 at home and my P4 at work. If I didn't set it to show the fps I'm getting, I wouldn't know the difference. Title: Re:Question about G5 and AA 1.9 Post by: BTs_Mysterio on October 01, 2004, 12:11:51 am I've never heard of a ATI 9600 with 128MB on the mac side GS.
http://barefeats.com/g5c.html Theres your PC performance at it's best... Pentium... ha! P.S. P4s @ 4 GHz has a score between the Althlon 2.1GHz and the Xeon 2.4GHz Title: Re:Question about G5 and AA 1.9 Post by: BTs_GhostSniper on October 01, 2004, 12:20:53 am I've never heard of a ATI 9600 with 128MB on the mac side GS. Some of the very early Single-Processor 1.8GHz G5's shipped with 128MB ATi 9600 Pro cards because Apple could not acquire enough of the regular nVidia and ATi 64MB cards. I was one of the lucky few to get one. Unfortunately, a short time later Apple fucked me and came out with the Dual-1.8GHz G5 for $100 more. Kinda reminds me of the definition of Alimony: "The screwing you get for the screwing you got." Title: Re:Question about G5 and AA 1.9 Post by: BTs_Mysterio on October 01, 2004, 12:25:09 am I guess this is a life lesson, never buy a Apple Powermac with a single processor because the next rev will be Duals.

Yeah, and when Apple finally releases the G5 I've been waiting for (the Dual-3.0GHz G5), they will probably fuck me again and release a Quad-3.0GHz G5 a month later. Bitches. Title: Re:Question about G5 and AA 1.9 Post by: BTs_Mysterio on October 01, 2004, 12:31:02 am lol. It actually is possible, it they were to stack the processors in the casing size of the Xseves we could have quad or even more G5s.
Title: Re:Question about G5 and AA 1.9 Post by: BFG on October 01, 2004, 02:31:03 am Quote Quad-3.0GHz G5 omg i think im going to have an accident. if they release Quads just imagine... oh boy. (the price tag would hurt though!) Title: Re:Question about G5 and AA 1.9 Post by: BTs_Mysterio on October 01, 2004, 02:55:48 am Take a look at it BFG look at how small the G5 holders are in the xserves. It's feasible.
