Title: Are Replays Cheap?
Post by: |MP|Buccaneer on August 12, 2003, 07:15:18 pm
Just a little poll to find out what everyone thinks.

Myself, I think it's cheap.  Getting to see what another clan does from their own points of view.  It's one thing to know that this is where people go, because we've killed each other there a few times.  It's another for me to watch how they move in every game, and study it as much as I like.

Even worse is when the clan does it, but doesn't tell the other clans that they are keeping replays.  That's a cheap advantage, not skill.  That's my opinion on it.

I think it's cheap. What's the point of secret team tactics if they can learn exactly what you do at certain maps.

Theres a trick to knowing what the opfor is about to do, and finding a countertactic for the presumed.

I like watching replays, like the one where I frag joka to smitherines on Battlefield.

And when you have more then one tactic your really don't haveto worry bout badguys humping your favorite corner.

Former co||ective had like 10-12 diffrent tactics or so, but hush thats a secret. .. :-X

wuub replays  ;D ;D

This is a video game with lots of features.  While unfortunately there are glitches in the game, those are not to be used to your advantage.  It also has features to be used to the advantage of the user in legit was.  Not the glitches, but the added features such as replays.  While GhR has the Replay feature, it is a feature that can be used by anybody.  While you might be mad that you weren't smart enough to do what BTs did, it is quite a legit, and good move.  Gj BTs! ;)  If you're trying to get better at a video game, you plain and simply watch somebody better than you.   If you're competing against others, it is to your advantage to know your opponent's game.  That's why professional teams study other teams, so they can succesfully defeat them.

What's ironic, it's that you call yourselves "Mischieveous Professionals", yet act far from professional.  If you were anything close to professional, you would be in BTs shoes.  They are a well organized clan that went the extra mile to achieve their goal, within boundaries of the game.  Nothing illegal.  Actually, quite smart.  Too bad their info was leaked out for all you n00bs to learn how to play better, and hell, perhaps even make it to the finals next season ;D (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/ass.gif)

Rapid, don't you need to go get schooled by Typhy before you talk about Ghost Recon?

And we've known about replays for a while.  We talked about it a long time ago.  It is not that we weren't smart enough, we just find it cheap and unsportsmanlike.

As for acting professional, you'd know nothing about it.

especially if it's acting mischeviously proffesional.

Well replays were in the beginning there as a means to tell if the enemies were cheating or not I think. If the enemy really studies a replay against you and beats you the next time you're playing, then you should just congratulate them for their effort and not say it was cheap, after all it's just your fault not changing your tactics often enough.

Kami, I say anyone used this to beat us?  I'm just asking under general interest.

Well if no one beat you, what are you really complaining about?

Is asking an opinion and stating one now a complaint?  Did I point a finger at anyone?  I didn't think so.

If we aren't here to share opinions, why post on it Kami?

Well it seems that this thread is a result of the thread about BTs' compilation of knowledge of other clans from playing with them (and possibly replays).  I don't study a clan's habits, i just go off skill in cbs and it works out.

I don't have any problem with a clan that tries to figure out other clans playing tactics. Its comparable to football teams watching films of other teams before a game, so they know what to expect. Replays are more valuable for catching and proving that someone cheats in cbs, like asshole.

As for rapid's comments, its to be expected from him. I'm sure he wouldn't be scared of typhy in a fence climbing and running contest.

hahahah jeb. ;D   I'm sure you'd have np getting into the "finals" neither, like you claimed last season.  Hell, you've never been in a finals period!  In fact, you used to make up bs excuses not to CB us, just in hope to hold on that bloated ego of yours.  But hey, who's keeping track here?  Oh yeah, the asshole that got personal with the bs.  You and your clan.

BTW, did you know that MP was the first clan to get personal with somebody?  And it was me.  DUmb fools went as far as trying to host a "free service", which they later tried to charge for, that when failed, then closed down.  Then they used their service to act like the 50 year old owned children that they are.  Making and hosting sites that are offensive to anybody that sees them, due to the lame content of fat people. (must be their family album pics of those long lost relatives ;D )  MPs even tried to leak out personal info of me.  Too bad they were dead wrong, but the intentions is what counts.  In fact, they try and cry bout others, yet they're the assholes that have done started stupid  personal bs since way back.   Too bad they can't hang in the game, where it all counts in their eyes.  They get owned there, and man do they ever get mad.  l0l!   Grow up you dumbfucks and stop your nonsense BS.  Hell, I really need to make a page pointing out all the bs you provoke MP's.   Dumb sore gaming losers that can't simply just play the video game. :o

The whole getting personal issue is something I don't understand.  Fools think that by getting personal, they're going to be able to own these people when they play them next.  They just show the world who really owns who.  And man,  I own all you rapid haters.  Especially bucc and his bad attitude.  Fucker acts all innocent, and is the host of it all (he'll claim his alias deadeye is the one, but we all know better).  Bucc will always be a representation of a sore loser/gamer.   Gj on being that example Bucc.

I dont think its cheap...its part of the game. I think that the clan that will go that extra mile to review the replays...like that of a football team...will in the end be wiser.

**guess i should have read above replys before i posted, pretty redundent eh? And Kami, everyone is entitled to there opinion...even you.**-voods

I think replays are hella fun to watch and are one the most interesting features of GhR.  I have always thought of it like watching film of the opposing football teams--I like that analogy.  I usually forget to watch the other team though because I love to watch myself pwing over and over at different speeds.  I hadn't thought of anyone having issueswith replays especially as its a DAMN rule to have record replays on,

Replays are ok, knowing that the other team is looking at them keeps you on your toes   :)

Well i like the replays...

I do think that the visiting team (non-host) should ask for them after each game. If you forget then your assed out.

anyone who has the time to watch GhR REPLAYS then deserves all the information they gain from it.
