These forums have seemed a little dead lately, so I thought I would start a new topic that almost everyone can respond to. I recently got a new car:

A 1998 Honda Accord

It looks like this, only it is dark green and it is a coupe, not a sedan. Came with CD, Sunroof, Remote Keyless, and power everything.

What are you guys driving?

  well , till just recently (last week in fact) i was driving a red 1989 saab 9000 with a leather interior power, roof, locks, drivers seat, and windows had air and 293,000+ miles on it (still the original engine!)

now i am driving a 2002 metal flake green subaru forester with 14,000 miles on it
air, power windows and locks (no moon roof or power seats)

now before you all yell at me for driving a gas guzzling suv, let me just say that i bought the forester bc it was the smallest thing that i could use to haul my stuff up to college that i could find used.

Cars suck  Lol    I ride a Rockey Mountain Hammer (still recovering from getting nailed by a car 29/05/2000.one operation left!)

This would be my current baby.  Better gas milage, lower emissions and much faster =D.  Now I just need to figure out how to mount the child seat.

Oh, and sometimes I drive a Birdhouse Falcon 3 deck, plain black grip tape, approx 60mm (they're about 20 years old and well worn) city roller wheels, Bones Reds bearings, and Delta II trucks that I got complete (minus the wheels, which I already had) from my friend for $20 in slightly used condition.

At the moment I drive a VW Corrado G60 with a horse power of 220. A Pioneer sound system with subwoofer and everything u need  ;D (fat tires and stuff)

I drive a Mitsubishi Expo, yes it says fruit all over it.

Brain, I read it, but I'd be shocked if you couldn't find a used Ford Ranger, since it is one of the best selling trucks out there.  (especially since when we talked you said you hadn't looked for them =P)

Also, it is not full time all wheel drive, and I'm thankful for it.  It's just the twist of a knob to switch to 4x4 mode.  I had an explorer that was the auto all-wheel drive, didn't allow you to switch manually, and it got about 30% worse gas milage.  With the electronic shift, I can switch to and from 4x4 at up to 45mph.

     I'm currently driving a '96 Toyota Camry into the ground. 2000+ miles a month pizza driving is a good way to drive any car into the ground. At some point in the future, I want to buy a 1986 Toyota Corolla GT-S and upgrade it for drifting. But for now, it's just me and my bald-tired, bad-braked, rattling, humming Camry.

95 Subaru Legacy Wagon

I quite like Subarus, they drive right (I don't like the Volvo, Acura, or Dodges that I have driven...they all feel disconnected from the road and the brake is stiff and the accelator is overly sensitive).

In the future I'm thinking either a WRX Wagon or perhaps a Civic Hybrid.  I am interested in hybrid cars and it would be heaven if Subaru makes one.

Looks like a gas guzzler to me. Wonder what kind of airbags you got on that baby, I don't think the pubic hair seat belts can protect you from an SUV or truck.

i only take it out on sundays, because all the children cry when i drive by. some people like it when i hit them.

I am currently sporting a shiny black 300z with dual fireball Exhaust and twin turbo's under the hood. also got a a'pexi cold air intake.

And my parents drive a brand new PoS Mini cooper with no options at all.... you didnt need to kno that but o well

Upgrade:

We are also a Saleen dealer, so my GT will be going straight to the Saleen factory in California to become a Saleen S281 Extreme Supercharged Mustang.  This upgrade on the 2004 model gives 445 hp and 450 ft-lbs of torque.  The 2005 model is supposed to up that but I'm not allowed to say by how much at this time.  Total price for my GT with the Saleen package will run about $75,000.[/size]

Let's see....my 2005 F-250 DIESEL (read it again....DIESEL YOU IDIOT), get 25 mpg.  Show me another vehicle that can pull 17,000 lbs that gets that good of fuel economy.

My 2004 Freestar uses gasoline and gets around 25 mpg also.

My 2005 Mustang GT with a 5-Spd is actually rated at about 25 mpg on the highway as well.

Also, I will be trading my 04 Freestar in for the 2005 Escape Hybrid when it comes out here (mid-2005 is what it is looking like).  It gets 35 mpg IN THE CITY.  Eat that bitch![/size]

Im currently driving a Citroen C3 - very nice car, best safefy standards around and also does near to 50mpg

I'm driving A 2003 Dodge Ram 1500hemi 4x4, 4 door, 20" rims can tow about 9000lbs and i get around 14mpg (26 gallon gas tank)

I saw that Arnold Swartzneiger  (htf do you spell his name) was going to do something usefull with himself and push through some laws in florida meaning that these future "SUV's" are going to have to be a lot less poluting and meet much better environmental standards. good man :)

I drive a '89 Honda Accord. Hell, it's not a bad little car. At least I didn't have a $75K Range Rover bought for me like some people at my school.

As for bikes, I'd have to go with sportbikes. My friends got a '01 Honda CBR 600 F4i. That thing is a fucking beast. It's like a Civic on 2 wheels weighing like 400 pounds.

My mother's "PIMP" '96 mitsub. lancer station gli. 1,6 gasoline, 14mpg when she drives, less when i do. Manual everything, crappy sound, horrible looks, disgusting "rims" (pimp plastic), but it's got 200k km (convert that one yourself), yet still a pure, and as-new drive.
still got the basic lancer chassis though, screw electric gizmo's. I like driving, feeling what the car does. Parking an SUV (yes, i have), is like fitting a square peg into a round hole, with all kinds of useless electronics. ;D
Occasionally I do manage to drive a crappy red toyota corolla. Hang in there lothario.

     Camry update: I'm still driving the same '96 that I was driving at the time of my original post in this thread. For something like nine or ten months now, it's had no reverse and no fourth gear in its automatic transmission. For the past four months, it's had no rear brakes (only had enough money to replace the fronts), the driver's side exterior door handle is broken in half, and three days ago, one of the two vertical metal supports for my seat back snapped at the base, so now I'm holding myself up with the steering wheel.

     ...yay?

So uhm, Loth, how often do you drive this deathtrap on wheels on a daily basis?

And i dont have a car, im 18, going to college, and i ride a -BIKE- damn right.

Dont tell me it restricts mobility either, within a few weeks once i heal up from the little date with the pavement i had a few days ago, im going to be taking it 120 miles over a mountain pass to get home, instead of paying 20 bucks to get a ride on the bus.  Stupid, crazy, and silly, yes.  But once i get over the pass and start coasting downhill for about 50/70 miles, makes it all worth it, since the grade is absurdly steep for most of the way.  :D

      Almost daily. I deliver pizzas with it. ~9 months with no reverse, pizza driving four days a week, and I've only gotten stuck twice. Not too shabby, I'd say.

now you know why they won't do anything about the environment. smaller engines + manual transmissions = harder to drive. lazy americans, just sign the fucking kyoto protocol already, and lose the big engines. just leave the damn boat in the water, or get a smaller one. if not, i wonder what you're compensating for.

1.6 litre naturally aspirated 4 cylinder in-line 16v + 5-speed manual is all you really need to get from a->b rapidly. (make it a 2-litre, so you don't get withdrawal symptoms)

Loth, how the hell can you drive a car without reverse? Do you just only park in places where you can pull through on the other side? What about backing out of your driveway or whatever?

     Well, one of the nice things about Camrys is that they have very little rolling resistance. I can coast down an incline of no more than ~8?, and I can eyeball said inclines with great accuracy. Between pizza driving and having no reverse, I'm also extremely skilled at judging whether a given space is enough for me to make a U-turn in. Sometimes I can combine the two and make part of a U-turn and then use the incline to make it a three-point turn.

     I've been delivering pizzas in this area for almost two years, so I've been damn near everyplace, so I know the apartment complexes and streets where I'll have trouble (no U-turn space and no inclines in the proper direction), so I make allowances. One complex is generally horseshoe-shaped, with a street linking the two arms. That street continues on to reach more apartments off to the side, and that's all downhill, with no place to turn at the bottom. So, I go partway up one of the arms of the horseshoe (which is conveniently graded), then throw it into reverse (for the light) and roll backwards for ~300 meters, avoiding pedestrians and opposing traffic. It gets weird looks, but it works. : D

     Having no reverse sucks, but man, it sure does force you to become a driving ninja. Try not using reverse for a few days. It requires far more alertness and planning ahead, which aren't bad qualities to develop on the road.

So what about parking? You never said anything about that.

voods, the windshield isn't that bad. on the highway, at 130 km/h (~80.7 m/h) and higher speeds, the airstream gets quite uncomfortable ;).

I have to add though that the bike currently has only 34 hp, because you can only drive hp-reduced bikes in Austria if your driving license is newer than 2 years, and my brother has just made it.

I drive a Volkswagen GTI 16V built 1986 with 139hp. Top Speed 208 km/h and 0 - 100km/h in 8.2 seconds.


Further I drive a GT Zaskar LE 16"  Mountainbike built 1997 with a Rock Shox Judy XC, Shimano XT parts, Magura Johnny T brakes, Alutech Rock Ring, Azonic Shorty stem and downhill bar for dual slalom.

and for Trial Mountainbiking I use a 14" Alutech Racing Trialbike with DT H?gi and Ringle hubs, Alutech Rock Ring, P-Bone fork, Magura  brakes tuned with only 10.6mm pistons.

Heres mine...its a nicer model than the one I used to drive earlier. Gets me to Uni in about 35 minutes. Not bad considering I live on the other side of town. Its electrical and thats a good thing in the city
