 :P  Yep, this looks familiar, only when the guy first throws it, that represents my teammate,and then when he recieves it again, that represents me.  I hate nades, i hate them i hate them.  Nobbs usually get 6 of them.  Go on depot in the warehouse, and just start nading like crazy.  Lets say theres 4 on a team, all noobs, THATS 24 NADES!  Here are all the reasons i hate them

1. people misuse them
2. i get tked a lot with them
3. they require little skill....little
4. suinaders use them when they cant shoot for shit
5. they are bs with lag
6. defeats the purpose of guns.  Ive seen nade wars basically, my team goes in with guns, and dies in a firey pit of 20 nades.  Its the only way a soldier can kill one that is better, other than shooting them when their back is turned or when they are reloading

People complain on my host because I have nothing but mags, jsut guns and bullets.  I love that, that requires the msot skill.  That is the game in my opinion, none of this bullshit nading.  But, this is just my opinion, i want to hear what u think, because SNAFU wanted nades so bad, and i could only wonder why.  So tell me, what do u think..

I would have to agree with everything you said in your post, with the exception of when a real pro is using the nades! Like when alba did this tip shot off the window edge...omg sooo sexy, i got all wet...and yeah ok...

I personally like nades because I learned nading from the best and I just love them. So I guess I'm a noob carrying 6 nades because many hosts ban hbs and jammers.

Well I hate when there are a bunch of idiots just ruining the game and throwing nades the entire time when you're trying to earn some kills and work on your aim.  In cb's nades are awesome and they've won a lot of cb's for me and my clan mates.  It's so relieveing to see Brain throw a random nade on top of Sib 1 and get the last kill of the game and the game just ending with such luck.  I like strategic nading also with an hbs, but when people just chuck nades the whole game, it's not fun.

Grenades are fine, as long as you know what you are doing, binding a key to a frag out message saves a few lives, it's the lame and horribly implemented OICW Grenade launcher that pisses me off.

     In RS, I was a huge fan of nades. I was good at using them, and I was damn good at avoiding them. Knowing just where to put the nade for maximum effect, and being able to precisely deposit it just where you want it, takes skill and forethought, and I enjoyed the hell out of it.

     In GhR (I know this thread has nothing to do with GhR, but the nades are probably my biggest beef with the game, so lemme vent  ;D ), I dislike nades intensely. I still carry them when I've got a sniper rifle, since the only pistol in the game is totally worthless, but that's an entirely different complaint. In RS, you had precision control of nades. I was able to pick a spot of ground anywhere from my feet out to the maximum throwing range and put a nade within a foot of it. In GhR, you can throw a nade exactly two ways: full power, or dropped in front of you. Even if the power gauge is somewhere between those two extremes, it will pick one of the extremes and use that power, the nade will be thrown at either full power or no power. It seems like a bug, which brings up the question of why Red Storm hasn't fixed it yet, but that's another entirely different complaint. The lack of precision nades removes an aspect of strategy and skill from the game, and god knows, GhR can't afford many losses in those areas.

     In summary, RS nades are teh win; GhR nades are teh suck. Thank you.

Nades to me are two things an very easy kill or an death wish. Any good nader would tell you to never run with a nade in your hand thast just stupid also if nades are just raining where you cant get to the other team thats not fun.So i do like nades when they are uesd right and are neccssary.

I carry six nades...only because i think HBS is fucking gay. I use them to open doors.

I'll tell you why i dont like playing without hbs and jammers. Because everyone thinks: "oh, lets carry 6 nades and throw them everywhere". Most of the Tk's happen in this game style.

But there are some maps where nading is really important (chalet guardhouse, cc, bunks ((if u rush)), etc)

Most of the time i use nades to kill warpers. if a nade flies at u, u cant warp away. ur dead anyways or mb ur lucky  ;D

Fact: Nades are really important, every shooter should have nades  ;D

I loved nades in RS! They were the best for opening doors, until I started using a shottie. But even with a shottie, they're still great. Blast open the door with the shottie, get out a nade, and chuck it into the room. Instant, firey death. Nades are really good for getting rid of campers. Like in ahhh...can't remember the name of it. There's a big warehouse where gold starts, and around the corner of the warehouse is a shack where blue starts. Well, in the warehouse, there are boxes stacked up that you can camp behind. If you see someone on HBS camping there, just toss a nade over the boxes. They'll either run out, or die. I do think that the GhR nades suck compared to RS. They can get thrown a little too far in my opinion, but they do come in handy when you're bogged down in a firefight.  :P

Sence none of you fools played R6, i thought id tell you about nades in R6 =D

I was taught to use nades by wrath, and i pwned some serious ass with them, same with loth, i know where to put them to make them most dificult to aviod, as well as most deadly, all you little sissys say nades take no skill, your wrong, and its because you suck badly at them.

P.S. I loved it in R6 when there whole bodie turns red =D

But anways, I chose how the suck in the pistols only, but anytime else, they are fine. Yeah, nades can be extremely useful to bounce them off of things to get campers....like myself.  ;D And yes, they can be missused too, I hate when at the start, everyone starts tossing nades. It happens on here, and it happens on SOCOM (ps2), which I rarely play anymore. So in all, nades are a catch 22 of everyones opinion.  Also, nades from "seemingly" nowhere suck a fat ass.

Well, nades are part of the game, and it is why they're there.  Nades are very effective when used right, and very dumb when used wrong.  The one thing I love seeing, is blind naders.  "This looks like a good spot to nade"  then ::) Heh ;)  There's a time for everything.  Of course in CB, everything goes, so it is best to know how to use the damn things.  But I also enjoy games where nades are not on and it's all about shooting each other.  All in all, RS has all its kit items to be used properly.  Hell, I even find HB Pucks sexy! ;)  Especially when n00bs go "OMG RAPID YOU GLITCHER!".   Hahaha, talk about 0wn3d! ;D

 


Rapid, re-read my question about nades, lol.  But anyway, i see some like and some dis-like nades.  I dont have trouble using them, but i think they are cheap, it distracts me from practicing my shooting and killing people with a gun.  I just hate when noobs use them.  As far as campers go.  Alls u need to do is prefire them.

Nades were/are ownage. They require a lot of skill to toss at the precise moment (of course most of it is luck too...) but a good nader also knows how to maneuveur so not to be killed with a nade in his or her hand unless they were suinading. It WAS annoying when all these people were uselessly tossing nades around, hoping to get a random kill when they should have been tossing nades where the other team was most likely to be. For example, on Sib 3, (if memory serves...) practically everyone (both teams) would waste all their nades on that bridge thing that connects the top of both buildings. It would be suicide to run there while your team and the other team are throwing nades there. That was pure annoyingness. But when the team worked together, and only like 1 or two people tossed a few nades there, as the other people ran around, the game was good. Also, it was ownage to toss a nade at a door, have it explode and run through to find you killed one or more people. And nades were useful to kill that unsuspecting camper who's waiting for you to enter his view... And uh, it's a lot more fun to see the reaction of someone when you nade them, than when you shoot them... and for the distraction, just learn how to maneuver around the areas where nades are most likely to be thrown, and you'll see they are no longer distractions (I think).
In GhR, I don't really like the nades anymore... in RS you had such precise control over where it would go, but in GhR, it doesn't seem like you have that much control. The nade bounces like four or five times unless you drop it...eh. Oh well, just my opinion.

Hmmm all good points Nh but u cant effectivly kill a camper by prefiring. If the camper is on their toes they will just shoot u to pieces. Also, i voted i hate nades in pistols but otherwise their fine because i love to attempt sucinades, attempt because i rarely get them to work but its always fun.

i like ed grenades in RS, but really dont like how they were implemented in GhR (see loth's rant for details), however i really like the grenade launcher in GhR.  no, i am not a nade spamming noob, but i actually use the GL for percision ranged explosive fire and for clearing around gorners when there isnt a guy with frags near by.  besides, nothing scares the bejeezus out of someone when they have supressing fire flying over the heads, ony to have it stop and then the earth starts to shake

btw, anyone remembet the anti tank gun from the ww2 mod?  that was the shit...
