Title: Killing Gratuitous Music
Post by: Brian on June 29, 2003, 08:27:18 pm
I've been playing the recently uploaded ACK! server-side missions. The missions continuously run GR music in the background, which causes stutters during game play on my machine.

Is there an easy way to edit the .mis file to eliminate the music from the missions?

Thanks!

Not sure on that specific mod, but I've found no problems in taking .wav's out of the sound folder from various other mods -- I think it was Free Libya that had some screeching arabic gibberish looped through the entire second mission or something that HAD to go.

Just gotta do some doubleclick-testing inside the sound folder to make sure you've located the correct offensive sound.

If anyone knows why a person shouldn't be doing this, feel free to correct me. ;)  But it seemed to work fine, no problems from the manual removal.
