It's a few excerpts from Ann Coulter's new book, "TREASON: Liberal Treachery from the Cold War to the War on Terrorism."

It's some of the most poorly thought out BULLSHIT I've ever read. I really was amazed that someone could be so fantastically stupid. She's so out of her mind it's scary.

Just to give you a quick picture of the character of her book, she seems to spend a great deal of time defending the infamous Ex-Senator Joe McCarthy. She talks of him as though he was a fine upstanding American, a fine example we should set forth for our children to follow.

All I have to say is: WOW, I thought this bitch was dumb before...

It looks like she was using stereotypes as the basis for her comparisons. I'd like to see a better synopsis of the book since thats mostly just snippets thrown in to excite people. But after seeing that she was paid a "7 figure advance" to write the book, it makes me wonder how much of it is just to gain attention, sell more books, and make her publisher happy.

So she thinks patriotism is loyalty to the country no matter.  She should go back and tell the patriots not to battle the status quo of British rule then.

2/3 of what this bitch writes about is her, as a conservative, telling people what liberals want for them. Because she knows what motivates liberals. And she was alive in 1950 to know what a great guy Joe McCarthy was. I'm sure she's a fucking scholar when it comes to Marxist theory as well.

This book is going to be another joke, just like her last one was. Believe it or not, I actually read it and it was just as bad if not worse than most people claimed it to be. Last time she published a book, she bragged about how exhaustively researched her book was. A throrough checking of her sources found that several of her key points rested on evidence that was pretty much forged or nonexistant. Nevertheless, she went on every cable TV program in sight to decree that liberals were evil. It is downright irresponsible to give this woman attention in mainstream media - it's the equivalent of Nightline doing an hourlong special on the opinions of that crazy guy walking around downtown New York with a sign reading "The End is Near".

One name, Zbignew Brezinsky. For those of you who dont know what that name is, its the Secretary of State under Carter who funded the Mujahedeen and did all those CIA operations in Afghanistan. She is stupid.

Bucc isnt conservative, I think its just the board that makes him look like that. I think Bucc likes to play the Devil's advocate so that is one reason why he could seem so conservative.

As long as we're bitching about Bucc, which I've always enjoyed, I'd like to note that even though he plays devil's advocate, he still calls anyone who disagrees with him a retard, with the notable exception of tasty.

Well I think it isnt right for Bucc to throw around insults even if he didnt start it, I find it immature to be calling people a dumbass cocksucker, it takes away all intelegence from his argument and makes him look bad. but this thread is not about Bucc, its about how hot Ann Coulter is. Nothing better than a blonde bitch that dosent know what shes talking about. If she is so conservative and white and christian she should shut her pie hole go in the kitchen and make me a pie! on a somewhat related note, they actually did find out later that McCarthy was right about alot of the people he accused. He went too far, he was obnoxious, but the man wasn't as crazy as people cracked him up to be in the years following.

The issue for me wasn't that people were Communists -- McCarthy could have been 100% right for all I care. My problem is that people were prosecuted based on things they believed. Which, according to the constitution, would be wrong.

Yeah, that's the problem I've always had...wondering what exactly is so bad about being a communist and why that was a crime.

Uh, look at how communism worked out for the USSR and think about the effect it would have had on america. a definite no no.

Obviously communism isn't such a good idea, but it's also not a good idea to stifle people's right to believe in whatever they want, no matter how fucked up it is.

Example: Even though I think Ann Coulter is a raving lunatic who wastes precious oxygen every time she opens her mouth, I would put my life on the line to defend her right to that speech, no matter how wrong or obnoxious she is.

Of course, once I've successfully defended her right to free speech, I might just put a bullet in her head out of general spite, but that's another story. ;D

The question is, were the people who were "communists" merely socialist or Marxist...or were they actually USSR's applied communist which is quite removed from the humanitarian view of Maxism and is actually quite indefensible.

The USSR wasn't really communist, they were a dictatorial variation of it.  There isn't supposed to be a dictator in communism.

So to judge communists based on USSR, China, or Cuba is to not understand true communism.

Most of the people prosecuted by McCarthy were Soviet "sympathizers", not power-hungry Stalinesque lunatics. Any Marxist can tell you today that what happened in the USSR and what is still happening in China, Cuba, and North Korea is NOT what Marx had in mind. That would be like saying the current US was what Adam Smith had in mind.

So what? Another dumb fucking patriotic book.
