Anyway, no one would feel the need to connect to me unless they are looking for a large collection of Pop and Musicals that most of you would consider crap. Just a note, I'll try to have iTunes open when I'm on my computer, and during the day if someone is linked in to my library, I won't close it when I leave, but I turn my computer off at night so anyone on then is out of luck. It's full of trance/electronic music, about 80% of it is just that, rest is pretty mixed, shortage of rock though, need some more :) You don't need to know the port number unless you're going to host yourself through a router or firewall. It's not like you can't trace any attack people would make against it (i.e. d.D.o.S.) and if you have a firewall they won't be able to do much else.

Being the self proclaimed King of P2P i have a few items i'd like to share with you. http://www.etek.chalmers.se/~lernvall/itdlgui3.tgz fuck streaming music from everyone, you can download it while they are sharing via itunes4! Its a standalone app, and essentialy works like icommune should (only without opening tons of ports and configuring websharing) Also... http://www.spymac.com/music/ combine that with the downloader and you have yourself a ghetto version of audiogalaxy! In safari under bookmarks you can bookmark your friend's shared music ips, Create a new bookmark and rather than using http:// use daap://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/ Clicking one of the bookmarks launches itunes and connects to the source. Infact you can even even make hyperlinks on the web open itunes and connect to the shared music, i'm asuming it works in the forums, but the button to make a link doesn't want to work. ps. one more thing, album art... http://www.sprote.com/clutter/index.html Its an app that downloads album art from amazon, and now you can use this to import the art to all the songs in the album that you have in your itunes library. Post by: kami on May 28, 2003, 04:53:19 pm My advice about the latest iTunes update, don't get it, not yet anyway, it's nothing really important and the biggest 'feature' is that it doesn't allow you to share your lib over the internet anymore, just over your home network via rendezvous. It was good as long as it lasted I guess, couldn't expect apple to hold their stance against all the record companies now when all those iTunes leeching apps came as well...

I have heard that you can run both 4.0 and 4.0.1 side by side. I found a pristine copy of the 4.0 installer, so I'll mirror it as soon as I have a chance.
