Title: Cat and Mouse Post by: Bondo on April 30, 2002, 02:52:16 am Well, around midnight I decided to let my cat in from outside and much to my surprise he chased a mouse (the thing was tiny maybe two inches by and inch and about one ounce) into the house. Well, never have I had a better lesson in the cat's predatorial instincts. Quite fun watching him chase the mouse around the room (where I thankfully was able to contain the mouse not that my cat needed any assistance in the matter. After a short spell when the mouse somehow slipped through the crack where the carpet meets the wall and crawled under the floorboards my cat got the mouse back out for the final flurry. With the mouse dazed (or playing dead) my cat just sat guard looking pleased as I got the mouse into a plastic bag (didn't seal it) and got him outside again looking not any worse for wear, just a little stuptifyed. My cat still has his claws and is fully capable of killing prey (he's notched a squirrel, a few birds and a bat already) but I guess he just wanted to play around with the mouse. Just for the extra info, my cat has also been an attempted prey of a fox (got a bite in the head from him) and a bird (a peck on the head). All that for an eleven year old "senior" cat. Guess that goes to show you why cats are better than dogs, much better pest control.
Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: l ! l Dutchman on April 30, 2002, 04:21:11 am True, they are better for killing a mouse....but have you ever seen a police cat? hehe I guess not.... ;)

I have a dream: when cats get even with dog to get a job by the police as a police cat. I have a dream when CATs CATch bank robbers or other criminals and get the same honor as dogs. I have a dream of CATs keeping order in Town, by being good house cats and security animals in big areals. I have a dream when hunters take their CATs inspite of their dogs b/c CATs are smaller , and they cat get better in smaller places then dogs, even old senior cats. And they can catch much of Mice, but only female CATs. Male CATs are not even b/c they are not able to hunt that good as female CATs. So a hunter can be proud of his CAT after the long hunting day when he comes home with a ton of dead animals: MICE . 8) veni, vidi, vici holo Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Grifter on April 30, 2002, 04:38:07 pm Leave it to someone that thinks that R6 is much superior to RS to believe that cats are better then dogs...
Besides taking out a few squarrels and mice (the dogs never let them live long enough to make it to the back door) I've even had the duty to return my old neighbors pain in the ass cat back to them in a shoebox (well... all the pieces I could find after the three poodles played tug toy with it). It was over in the blink of an eye before I could even make it out the back door, and yes, I even felt a bit bad (even if the little pussy had it coming, which it did.... it used to pace the fense back and forth teasing the dogs, then when the dogs were put inside, it would jump the fence and pace in front of the window for them to see). Well... all that taunting came back in a red and gray blurr... (oh, and this cat had all it's claws too, but that was a poor excuse for a defense when it was in the middle of the yard and Bog followed it up the tree, bringing it back down with him.... did I mention that poodles are bird dogs and can climb some trees?) One thing is for sure.... you'll never see a cat owner bringing back a dog that their cat killed. Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: WeaSelFlinK on April 30, 2002, 05:13:52 pm Do you fellas think I should attend a psychiatrist if I told you I keep having dreams of this midget shaving my pubic hair?
Beefy. Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: BTs_Mysterio on April 30, 2002, 08:15:38 pm Beefy, yes ANd in a fight between a cat and a dog, which woudl get their heaad torn off? Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Bondo on April 30, 2002, 08:48:41 pm Neither Mysterio, the dog isn't going to catch the cat so the cat is safe, the dog may get its head torn off trying to do something stupid in the process though because dogs aren't as smart or capable predators.
Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: BTs_Mysterio on April 30, 2002, 08:53:36 pm lets put it this way, Cat's are for fags.
btw, dogs are smart Stalkers, and killers Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Bondo on April 30, 2002, 08:55:36 pm Cats don't hump people's legs.
You are homophobic. Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: BTs_Mysterio on April 30, 2002, 09:13:57 pm ive never seen anythign hump anythings leg, exepct typhy's bad aim in RS humping.
Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Bondo on April 30, 2002, 09:15:32 pm See, this is what I'm talking about, no mention of AK and then suddenly you make fun of Typhy. Although if he is a humper in the games it makes sense but honestly.

Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Supernatural Pie on May 01, 2002, 05:27:15 pm Depends? HAH! All cats own all of you.
:-[ ::)? Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Grifter on May 01, 2002, 06:48:13 pm Cat's own nothing in my neighborhood.... hehe
Bondo... you mentioned that the dogs aren't fast enough to catch the cat?? What kind of slow ass dogs have you been around? Now, my wife's German Sheppard is too clumsy to catch a cat, I'll give you that... But I'll lay 100:1 on Josie besting the pussy cat (Josie is my standard poodle). BTW, for those who scoff here.... the Sheppard is terrified of the Poodle.... and for good reason. She is fast, agile, and nasty. It's why I love her so (no Ace, not because she looks like a sheep, you perv). She's a bit underweight at only 60lbs, but Guiness (the sheppard) weighs over twice that and runs for his life (not that she doesn't catch him in faster then a newbie screams "cheat!". Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Brain on May 02, 2002, 12:33:57 am Quote Depends? HAH! Lol, Good point Grifter, Bondo: Speaking on the subject of cats & dogs, ( Which is better =) ). Have you ever seen law inforcement using cats for help? no, thats because dogs are so much smarter =) Besides: Obviously dogs offer better companionship, Ever heard the saying "Dogs have masters while cats have Staff? Cats - Stuck up little furballs =) Dogs - Loyal and friendly little ( And big ) Furballs =) Please take no offence in this post. -Typhy Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Brain on May 02, 2002, 01:37:44 am parrots own all animals
does your pet cat say hello whe you walk in the door, i didnt think so Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Grifter on May 02, 2002, 05:38:29 am BTW, if anyone wants to see a truley impressive dog, I'll snap a pic of my next door neighbor's pooch Winston. He's a full grown English Mastiff. Let's just say that I'm a big boy, and I've not met many dogs that are bigger then me.... especially that much BIGGER then me. Winston weighs in at 264 lbs. And he's not fat at all... just one huge animal. The other two Mastiff's are a bit smaller, at 215 lbs and 190 lbs for the female. He's a big babby, and wouldn't hurt a fly, but you should see those guys that hang thost stupid flyers on your door run when they see him coming up to the gate... hehe. Now that is a great reason that dogs are better then cats... bigger pest control.
Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Brain on May 02, 2002, 11:15:06 am you should see what a parrot can do if they dont like you
ever see a 150 lb black belt get chased around by a 1 lb bird. yea, now that's comedy and once you see what those can openers called beaks can to nuts(macaws can easily crush walnuts, my eclectus can only really crush peanuts, but can still draw blood) it makes you wonder what that beak can do when applied to your toes, or fingers. and parrots still own all animals in the intelligence department Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Grifter on May 02, 2002, 04:02:04 pm Dunno about that one Brain.... I've never seen a dog fly into a window and break it's own neck....
But I have seen a dog figure out how to turn a doorknob to open a door on it's own (now if only she'd figure out to close it...) I have two things against birds as pets... One, a bird can't really sense your emotions and react accordingly like a dog can. Two, a bird in a cage is a sad sight to me.... A bird should be flying, not trapped. Dog's chose people as much as people chose dogs (cat's tend to tolerate people... which fits, because most guys I know just tolerate cats.. heh) Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Ace on May 02, 2002, 04:13:51 pm Quote She is fast, agile, and nasty. ?It's why I love her so (no Ace, not because she looks like a sheep, you perv). So are you admitting she looks like a sheep? If so, it's good that she is fast, agile, and nasty. Well, fast and agile. Nasty never seemed to turn GRIFT off from animals before. Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Grifter on May 02, 2002, 05:07:25 pm Nasty attracts me... It's why I luv you so much.
Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Geek USA on May 02, 2002, 05:49:11 pm any parrot you see in america is a very lucky one. they pack them into crates by the 100s, and only a couple survive the journey to our pet stores. people think its all funny that they talk to you, but really they are just trying to blend in... maybe not get stuffed into another crate..
Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: BTs_Mysterio on May 02, 2002, 06:00:44 pm One day, the parrots will fight back...
Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Brain on May 02, 2002, 06:11:54 pm some birds are that stupid, but my parrot likes looking in the mirror. it looks like she knows it is her reflection in the mirror. parrots are smart birds, smarter than most ppl think.
oh and by the way geek, my parrot was hand raised in the us, not shipped over(she is 3, and we have had all but a few months of that) i know they do that, and i dont like it one bit never would have got her if she was shipped Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Typhy on May 02, 2002, 07:56:09 pm I got an Irish Wolf Hound, ( Really really big ). Somtimes he will put his paws on peoples shoulders and he was able to get his paws on the shoulders of a friend of my parents who is 6'9!

Quote Quite fun watching him chase the mouse around the room (where I thankfully was able to contain the mouse not that my cat needed any assistance in the matter. ?After a short spell when the mouse somehow slipped through the crack where the carpet meets the wall and crawled under the floorboards my cat got the mouse back out for the final flurry. If you were in Prof. Destructo's 4th year English major, you would be given a "0" for any grammatical errors!! They say, that animals, especially cats, who bring home dead animals means that they love you. A sign of affection to their owner. They bring home the prey to give to the owner as a gift kind of thing. I shit you not. My cat used to bring me big fuckin Crows. Ahhh, my cat, he ruled my street. Fuck with him and you were asking for a beating... *sigh* *tear* my cat *cry* *dest crys for his cat* talk amounst yourselves.... Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Typhy on May 04, 2002, 01:35:00 am Dest: It isn't nessassary for you to respond for every topic. But, I guess thats your choice.
As for Parrots, They just have no care what happens to their owners. Their owner dies? So what they think. All that has to happen for them to be happy is for them to be fed. However I do like parrots for I have one. :) Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: Destructo on May 04, 2002, 01:40:05 am Typhy, look at the board, all i see is your name, so shut-up
Title: Re: Cat and Mouse Post by: WeaSelFlinK on May 04, 2002, 02:41:32 am Ssheesh Dest, you're starting to sound like Yoda with that "I shit you not" thing. To see how Darth Vader slices Yoda's hairy face in two would be a great show. Unfortunately, that will never happen. Darth Vader is dead, and Yoda is too... damn you, Lucas!

I had a parrot named Master P. I had found him in my backyard near death, and took him in. He used to talk to me, and even give parrot hugs. He was not confined to a cage. He was also quite capable of playing tricks on people, even cats. The bird would call out to the cat, mimicking my "here kitty kitty kitty". The cat, thinking it was time to be fed, would run in through the kitchen door only to be bombarded and assaulted by my devious pet. Eventually, the cat learned her lesson and exercised more caution in such matters, proving cats are not completely stupid. Nonetheless, the parrot still proved to be the smarter of the two. Alas, Master P is no longer with us. His owner came and reclaimed him, much to my dismay ?but hey, i've still got 3 dogs, a lizard, turtle, fish, and a cat to keep me entertained.
