Title: Rogue Spear and Cable Router Post by: bronto on January 20, 2003, 05:34:40 pm I know some people have gotten around their cable routers and are able to host fine now, and i want to do the same. My router is SoHoware and i'm told i can't disable the firewall on it. Someone said something about opening ports. Can anyone instruct me on how to do this (how to on pc, also if you know :) )

For example, my Linksys router's configuration page can be accessed with http://192.168.1.1 (http://192.168.1.1). This is probably the same for yours. If not, your router's IP can be seen in the TCP/IP control panel (mac or pc) as gateway, router, etc.
Now, you will want to check out the manual for the bastard here: http://www.sohoware.com/serv/downloads.htm (http://www.sohoware.com/serv/downloads.htm). I'm guessing you have the BroadGuard Router - NBG800(it's the only router there). In the manual, there are sections that explain about DMZ and port fowarding... READ THEM OR DIE!! For RS it is 2346 (hope this is right) as u prolly noticed... Mb we can do it together on GR sometimes? dunno if i really can help u, but we could try ;) cya |
