Title: Should I go to the Movies
Post by: EUR_Zaitsev on December 22, 2002, 02:48:24 am
With School Out and the Acedemy Deciding on the final movies do any gamers have opinions on the following movies:

LOTR: Two Towers
Drumline
Gangs of New York

Is it worth all of 7.50 and that twice over with a fair lady?

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is an excellent movie. Directed well, good acting, nice graphics, the movie has it all. The only gripe I had with it was that it was 3 hours long.

Note to you: Do not take a girlfriend or a girl you are interested in to a movie that has a lot of violence, etc. unless it is a horror flick.

You should definatley see LOTR it has alot of action with a touch or romace with great young actors. Gangs of New York i want to see it reflects on the ghetto ways of life in the late 1700's and early 1800's. Take you're girlfriend to see Drumline it looks like a great movie.

I'm going to puke up millions of shit logs all over your face. I know you're trying to be mature, but you don't have to speak like some ivy league college student.

Well See I was wondering Is Aragon immortal since at Rivendale that woman gave him the little madallion and was all :"I chooser a mortal life": in the first movie. Also I do want to see bowling for columbine, drumline I think is okay but Im really not sure about gangs of New York, It may just be corney.

Aragorn is not immortal. He rejects it and lets Arwen have it.

Drumline looks like a really crappy movie. I just saw the preview and it took me a while to stop laughing. Not only is it a movie about band geeks, it appears to follow the same plot conventions as quite a few other movies that were recently successful with teen audiences (Remember the Titans, Save the Last Dance, Bring it On come to mind). I mean, just think about it? "hey let's win the band competition by playing our drums differently and trying to be all cool about it." Someone needs to tell those band nerds to STFU.

Go see The Two Towers now. Immediately. And never, NEVER see Drumline. Unless the preview has absolutely nothing to do with the actual movie, it's going to be lame. I mean, honestly, let's get hardcore about... band!! Hahahahahahahah.

I so secound that Ace. Be real Drumline is about a kid whos in a marching band for a Football team. And they have "Drum battle's" I would rather give that $7.50 to Osama.

Aragorn is not immortal. He rejects it and lets Arwen have it.

He doesn't reject it, it was a gift to him. She makes him keep it, it does not make him immortal, it's just something to remember her by, it probably has some elvish significance though. When she says i choose a mortal life, she means she chooses Aaragorn, a mortal man, to love. I don't think elves can die of old age.

Go see LOTR, looks really cool from all the previews, and of course if you've read the books and loved them, it's a must see. I'm seeing it on the 27th actually hehe ;)

LOTR is a lot better than gangs of new york. Scorcese has made a few good movies but this ones just Leo sexing up some gutter sluts. And throwing sharp objects.

Drumline....hah. I'd rather get sodomized by all of North Korea than go to see this obvious failure. The entire movies about some fruit that wants to out perform any drumline that came previous to him. They probably filled the rest of the movie with sex and ebonics since there's not a lot of substance to a band movie.

Another shitty movie coming out: Biker Boyz

Any movie name with Boyz in it is probably about fags and their strife in today's society.

So if the madallion makes her mortal wouldnt it mean with it she was immortal as is anyone who wears it, such as Argon.

Hey, I watched LOTR 2 and it was awesome, alot better than the 1st part. You can tell b/c they put alot more money into part 2, b/c of the better graphics and nothing was forgotten.  Definite must see if you saw and liked the 1st one.
I want to go see Gangs of NewYork, b/c it was directed by Scorsese, I mean Oh EH! Eh Oh! ya knaw!!

Also, it looks pretty good, enough to pass the time if yer not doing anything, who knows i might even go watch it tonight!!

gl on yer choice!!

ok, this makes no sense cause ok

SPOILER
in the second one even when she doesn't have the necklace and even when she is willing to marry a mortal or whatever her father is like no you're stupid cause you'll have to live alone when he dies, etc...

so if she was willing to accept mortality, why would she have to live alone once Aragorn dies if she too would die?
it doesn't seem like she has a choice to be mortal... otherwise she would have stayed with aragorn, right?

that stupid necklace is the only part of the movie i don't get.

The necklace isnt a big part of the movie, it doesn't have enny super powers or enny thing, Zait, just go whatch LOTR. And stop think to hard   :D

Title: Re:Should I go to the Movies
Post by: KoS PY.nq.ict on December 25, 2002, 05:50:38 am
The necklace only symbolizes her love for him. It doesn't give immortality. There's a meaning behind this though. That true love and passion will always be eternal. It gives Aragorn the extra faith he needs to fight evil.

I went to see LOTR:TT the other day. OMFG. IT'S AMAZING. GO SEE IT NOW!!!

Oh and Merry Christmas

Okay, Mauti is definetly right here! Bowling for Columbine is the best movie on the list by far (okay, so it's not really on the list but whatever). The Two Towers was awesome, but I think I like the first one better. Bowling for Columbine is a definete must see. And, for anyone who likes that style of movie be sure to check out "Freedom Downtime" by Eric Corley and the 2600 crew.
