*DAMN R6 Forum

Personally i think that the layout before this new version was perfect; everything was nice and organised. Now we get this, all the games you got in 1 list ? They call that organized ? And were is my Fav folder ? I cant find it and i cant create a new 1 ?

In my opinion this is a giant fall back to the prehistoric ages for Gr, update back to version 3 pls !  >:(

evill could at least have made this new layout an option. i personally dont mind it that  much, but that is because i'm on a comp that only has 2 games on it right now. i'll have a better opinion when i get back to college

I dont like it because I have aoe2 installed, and half the games i see is aoe2. I dont wanna throw it out because its a cool game, but i dont wanna see it too. GR2 was also better, since we could CHOOSE the games we wanna see, and we could change it so that we only saw the people in the room that had a certain game.

   Yeah, I too think that the new layout should be an option like it was in 3.0.1. I have several games on my system and it gets kind of confusing trying to quickly find the game I want to join. I understand that Evill had to release an update for a new game but he should have kept the hierarchy layout of 3.0.1.

I kinda like it, the only thing that i dislike is seeing the server folders in there with the gamelist.
Evill said yesterday how we bitched when he changed the gamelist, now its changed back to its old style.

i personally enjoy the way that the game list is shown more comprehensively and with a pulldown menu instead of that clunky folder system. i wish i could still use gr2 though, the text based interface pwns this aqua version, way less clunky and more functional for what we use it for? if he wants to go the way of prettier interfaces, than kevill should get AIM-style profiles and allow html formatting in the stuff we enter. right now it just seems like GR is stuck in an interim period between being very functional or very feature-laden.

You are seriously overreacting. I have seen almost no difference in the new update. I actually forgot it was an update before I saw this thread. Just relax, and let it sink in for a couple days. Just think about how much different GR3 was compared to 2, and you all got used to that. This will be 100 times easier to adjust to.

i didnt know the some one else was using Kevill in Gameranger, and how come there could be alot of george's, alot of bob's alot of mikes, i havent seen the 1st person in gameranger with the name of kevill, and i dont see any reason for banning me for that.

Where do you get the "new group", edit..., and remove... from? If I'm able to set up my gameranger like that then it would be just fine. As it stands, that is my only complaint with the new layout, not being able to see just one gmae at a time.

Personally I like it much better. . .it's more the the original GR that I'm used to.  Of course, I didn't use GR during v3 long enough to begin to prefer it.

Mb you know best, but you also are the only one who knows how to configure the server list. Meh... i'm so confused

 All I can say is "Wow, things really have changed in the past 5 months". - I can't really comment on how good it is because I've not used it, but it does look like a big change.  

It's a feature that I've completed already for the next update. I should have clarified that.

Out of curiousity, does this new GR run the same in 9 as it does in X?

Off-topic: Please refrain from using imagery in your text because it takes up bandwidth and slows down loading times. This goes for about everyone but Scott Kevill since his use of imagery is to demonstrate a purpose and show a feature off on his service. I only really posted this since shadowbox posted a picture, a bad one at that.

I appologize for that but I was currious as to where Evill got the Groups from. Now that it's been cleared up there is no need for the image to be associated with my post.

Also I was un-aware that we were not allowed to post images within our posts, but in the future I'll just make a link to them on my server.

Well, you are allowed to use images, just not to excess.

For example,  8) does not waste bandwidth, but a huge page of them would.

And to post an image, you have to link to your server anyway, it just takes a while for the page to load.  Example (a 3k image on my server)

If you have a very large picture, it is better to post it as a link so that users with slow modems don't have to load it unless they want to.

As much as I enjoy Punisher and Womble I dislike your posts.  Although I'd like him to answer that do you erally expect him to because you know once someone posts 3 times in a thread Infection is allowed to edit it =D.  Btw you're not allowed to call him Mr. Kevill, only me.  I'm a personal body guard.


Finally I think the new Gameranger is good because there isn't so many levels or heirarchy, but still the favorites feature will be good.
