*DAMN R6 Forum

Hi all, I wanted to share with you my experience at E3 this last week. ?I saw all new games and btw, Dragon's Lair looks so fucken tight! ?For XBOX though. ?Also I went to Tom Clancy's booth(which was UBIsoft) and saw and played Raven Shield, Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell! ?All the games are awesome, but they all lack one thing, not made for a MAC. ?I spent some time with the programmers of Raven Shield and explained to them how many Graphic Designers are out there, and they all have MACS and they all play Video Games. ?Their booth was based on a new Raven Shield Map. ?It was awesome! ?They also had a skit where they asked for 4 volunteers (In which I stepped up) gave us Embroidered Raven Shield Beanie (Like Special Forces Wears) and then the REAL LIFE RAINBOW 6 team came in and rescued us(we were playing hostages) and shot down a fool on the second level(A dummy dressed as a terrorist) with his Laser BB gun. ?The terrorist had balloons on him and when he got shot, the balloons popped! ?Also I got some cool Raven Shield Post Cards and I got the Original RAINBOW 6's signatures! (Only 4 of them) ?They told me they were responsible for putting the programmers thru real life RAINBOW 6 training so they could get a better feel of what they were programming! ?Awesome Research & Development if you ask me! ?Overall, it was an awesome experience and I really hope they port that game to MAC. ?However, I did not like the reticule on Raven Shield, but it did add a bit more realism. ?Sounds were awesome and they got rid of 3rd person so no camping cheaters. ?Also I was owning when playin vs 3 others in a survival Mode! ?WOOOOOT! ?The CSL map looked awesome with some new fixings. ?Ghost Recon wasn't that bad neither, but I only got to play in on XBOX. ?Splinter Cell was for XBOX also and it was pretty cool but only a SP game. ?You get missions like Syphon Filter(If any of you are familiar with that game, you'll understand) and have to finish it according to your orders. ?Over all, I liked Raven Shield the best and I really hope they bring it to the MAC. ?E3 was a blast and I found myself stuck at the UBIsoft booth the most. ?WOOOOT!

Well, actually Nintendo had the best games out, but there is no accounting for taste with an Xbox owner.  Also, Dragon's Lair 3D isn't coming to Xbox, only GCN, PS2, and PC.  Splinter Cell is coming to GCN, Xbox, and PS2, people are calling it the MGS2 killer, but the MGS games are crap so that isn't saying much.  Still, I hope Red Storm can get back on track making good games like R6 after crap like RS.

you did at least SUGGEST that they port to mac right?(not that they would have cared)

Guys, the question isn't if Raven Sheild will come to the Mac, it's WHEN will it come to the Mac?

Even if UbiSoft doesn't chose to develop it themselves (which I'll bet that they will, since they already have a Mac OS X development team), then someone will lisense the title and port it over (ala MacSoft with R6 and RS).  There are enough publishers that have made money off the first two, that they will take the chance on Raven-Sheild if it sells for the PC at all.

The reason I bet on Ubi is according to MacSoft, Ubi wouldn't renew the lisense's for either previous title... which says to me they want to publish from in house.

And it's not like it would make any sense for them to not develop or lisense it for the Mac... money is money.  And the sales of R6 and RS on the Mac show the pattern.

Doom 3 and the new unreal looked beter than the ubisoft games...

I hope Grifter is right I would like to get it.

Yes DOOM3 and UNREAL Tourney looked good too, but the realism of the UBIsoft collection, owned over all that in my opinion. ?Of course, we all have our own taste on the type games we like and those were my picks:) ?

Bondo, Dragons Lair will be out for the XBOX cuz I saw it being played there on XBOX :O

Odd, they had announced that the Xbox version was cancelled a few months ago.

Oh look, another game that will cause violence in schools.

 you still never answered wether or not uo kept the beanie.  also, i hope they release a mp demo of ghost recon soon  does anybody know if gr or raven shield are going to be osx or what?   finally, were there any new things you could do in raven shield, like bash someone with your weapon(a la halo)

Ahhhh, of course I got to keep the beanie :D  There are new features like Thermo Vision where you can see your enemy thru Thermal Readings and the maps have a hell of a lot more detail.  No you can't punch or use your weapon to hit the enemy.  Also, no 3rd person watching when you're dead(I thought that sucked since I love watching other people have their gun fights in 3rd person)  Also since there's no talk of neither Ghost Recon or Raven Shield coming to the mac, I couldn't tell you whether they plan to bring it out to OS X or OS9.  I got Raven Shield  Postcards if anybody wants one, send me an email with your address and I'll send you one :D

so does this mean that you can see through the smoke grenades, (so thay are actually half usefull now)
or through doors?
