Title: Brain's Brain Busters: circular reasoning and logic puzzles Post by: Brain on November 05, 2002, 08:40:34 am well, with the little down time between bucc's logic exams, i'd thought that i could do something similar.
i've done mant many circular(or atleast nonlinear) reasoning puzzles, and i figure they can be adapted to the forums. here's the rules: i'll post a puzzle. anyone who cares to do so can post a YES OR NO question and i will mod in the appropate response (or else i'd have bondo beat on posts in a single month) if you think you know the answer, send me a pm with an explanation of what happened, or the solution and i will pm you back. IF YOU KNOW THE SOLUTION, OR HAVE HEARD THE PROBLEM BEFORE, DO NOT POST THE ANSWER TO THE THREAD the reason i ask for pms is so that people who see the thread later can still try and solve the puzzle. after one month i will post the answer to the puzzle, and start a new thread with a new puzzle thanks for your cooperation also, if i happen to come up with a really weak puzzle, dont rip on me for it please. The difficulty will very, and some can be almost impossible if you dont hit upon the right line of questioning -Brain and now, with out further adue, the first puzzle police arrive on the scene of a crime. they come upon a locked house, and after opening the lock discover a man hanging from the rafters. his feet are 3 feet off the floor, and the rafter is 11 feet up the noose hangs at about the 8 foot level. there is no furnature in the room, but there is a clear puddle under the man's feet. the question is how did the man die (i.e. how did he get in his current state; hanging 3 feet off the ground). assume the rope has always been there. this puzzler will be up till oct 1 good luck Title: Re:Brain's Brain Busters: circular reasoning and logic puzzles Post by: Ace on November 05, 2002, 09:41:50 am I know the answer and so does Jeb apparently. His post got pwned so everyone else like ejo could figure it out. Brain, you gotta come up with something tougher next time.

you went and deleted the one post that had validity to it and that wasn't spam, how dare you (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~damnr6/yabbse/YaBBImages/ass.gif) btw brian, i've heard most of those from my younger years at summer camp. hey! what are you doing in here! no! don't touch that power cor-! Title: Re:Brain's Brain Busters: circular reasoning and logic puzzles Post by: Brain on November 05, 2002, 03:17:00 pm well, i wanted to make the first one easy, and besides, you were expecting something creative at 2:30 in the morning?
i'll have another one in a few min, i'm doing most of these from memory ok, i don't know how many of you have heard this one: one dark and foggy night, a man is speeding along a twisting mountain road and is pulled over by the cop. they have a discussion, and the man is let off with a warning about 5 min later there is a horrific crash. due to how the road has curved the first man(the guy who got pulled over) sees the crash. and his first response is: oh shit, i caused that accident. the question is, how did he do it? Title: Re:Brain's Brain Busters: circular reasoning and logic puzzles Post by: Bondo on November 05, 2002, 03:17:10 pm Dead guy is a midget...5 feet tall apparently.
I won't answer because Ace is being the reply nazi. if you read the instructions, you would see that you answer by sending me a pm. last time i checked, ace couldnt read my pm's so i have no clue how you would get ripped on -Brain Title: Re:Brain's Brain Busters: circular reasoning and logic puzzles Post by: Deadeye on November 05, 2002, 04:05:27 pm 5 foot isn't a midget.
brain, pinky could have given you a plausable answer to this one, but if you really want an answer, let me know and i'll pm you. btw, this is a twist on a dick tracy comic. so, in the spirit of this, a question. was the liquid water? lol yes, the liquid is water and were you referring to the answer for the first one or the second one Title: Re:Brain's Brain Busters: circular reasoning and logic puzzles Post by: (SiX)Ben on November 06, 2002, 12:40:02 am LOL Brain... When you say Brain's Brain Buster... I actually thought you meant something hard... Here's a followup to deadeyes question...
[Bad Ben, don't want to be too obvious now. ;) Ace] Second one: Was the cop involved in the crash?! no, the cop was not involved in the crash Ben |
