i see these things next to some people's names and i just wondered what the significance of them was. maybe this is a stupid question and i just haven't been around long enough? sorry if it is

 Well, its suppose to be the people who make the most intelligent posts. But since KoS Dest and his friends made the list, it became all of their friends.

its a private part of the forums, its not very active however.
i guess you could say its "friends of dest" however there aren't any enemys.
btw cossack isn't a freak and he is in the forum, its about the quality of posts (with the ocasional spam)

That took between 5 and 15 seconds to write. Honestly, take the time and write it correctly.

Private part of the forums eh? sounds pretty elitist. It also brings a number of questions:

If it is inactive, what is its purpose? Why is it necessary? And even if it was active, why would the supposed "quality posters" need their own forum? So they don't have to wade through the "low quality" posts made by everyone else? Obviously, the discussion in the General Gossip forum must be more compelling, or the Special Forces forum would be more active, and its members wouldn't post here. But since they do post here (frequently), it leads me to the conclusion that the Special Forces designation simply isn't necessary. And either way, the designation is somewhat insulting to everyone else that isn't included (as almost all exclusive groups are) because of what it implies about the remainder of DAMN posters that aren't included.

Tasty, before you showed up, there was a lot of good discussions going on that were being ruined by spammers.  It was really getting out of hand.

The moderators all stepped up thier efforts to make it better, but the new forum was an idea by a couple of people here to give them a place to argue without all the constant bickering.  

Since the general gossip forum seems to have calmed down, it's not very active in the Specail Forces right now.

Dude... Spell checker PWNS you Cringe! Ooooooh... I think it's time for our friendly neighborhood spell checker to reveal himself! Either that or start to spell check me so I can write sloppy too!

its purpose is a private forum to talk about things on a mature level without the likes of mattster posting senseless garbage, or other people starting flamewars. there are ocasional debates, but very little name calling (aside from calling dest a mazda slut)

Anyway, I personally have probably been deleting 15-20 posts of spam a day to help keep these forums clean. Advice to you people would be to check the warning thread if you see your posts disappearing because excessive spammers will be warned.

then my last comment would be to state that I think its funny that one of the "Special Forces" (Jeb) is currently on assasin's warning list for too much spam

No system is perfect.  They accepted Bondo too.

Jeb is on the warning list for having a shit-slinging fest with Typhy, who has also been warned. It is easier to warn them to get them to stop immediately than have it spill across to other threads.

Cringe is one person who is close to getting warned, so if you see this, quit posting in all threads because you can - contribute when you need to say something important or on topic.

 Tasty, as I said. Its not realyl the people who make the best/most intelligent posts. Its the people who are friends with KoS Dest and them. And Bucc, Bondo belongs in any intelligent posters group for this forum. Look through his posts. He makes intelligence points and does a good job.

So typhy... Bondo makes "intelligence points" eh?

I'm not a friend of Dest and I was against the special forum in the first place.  But I'm still a member of it.

Anyway, I think it did serve its purpose to some degree, because for a short while it was the only area of intelligent thought around.  Then a lot of the members of it started trashing it with spam and catfights, and it became no better than General Gossip.  So trust me, you're not missing anything.

Plus, the original intent was for any thread to be moved to General gossip if it became of general interest.

LOL Typhy, I've looked at them.  I've laughed at them.  I've pointed at them and had a good laugh with friends.  I point out flaws in his logic and he makes up new logic.  And he's never, ever said where he learned it, what classes or books.  Just that his logic is valid.  LMAO.

 The thing that I found most funny was when I looked at all of KoS Gorf's posts. Out of 150+ posts, I counted 1 that had a point. It was quite funny. Make a comparison on what Bondo has posted vs what someone like Jeb has posted. And you will see, why if lots of those people are going to be in there, Bondo belongs there.

Typhy, first, I was against it too when it was created.  But it was, and I posted to it.

Second, I don't see anything better coming out of Bondo then comes out of Jeb.  Jeb makes light of things.  That's his style.  Bondo makes things up.  That's his style.  I think Bondo's is the more dangerous, because some of the younger, influental minds here may think he knows what he's talking about.  That's scarry.  But, it's just my opinion (and maybe a few others).  I don't let my like or dislike for someone influence when I think (and therefore say) that they are talking out of their ass.  I have corrected many people's facts here, guys I get along with like Ace and Assassin, and guys I don't.  And when someone I don't like Bondo says something correct, I give him that credit too.  But it has nothing to do with how I fell about them.  

Tasty has made much more solid arguments so far then Bondo.

Yes some my posts can be called spam and when that is the case its in a joking manner. I'm suprized you haven't called Ace and that hoodlem AceII out on their flagrent spams in recent topics.Some people spam worse than others, or bring no inteligence to a conversation. example being, people posting over and over in one topic with the same idea repeated over and over.
