Title: Iowa PWNS michigan
Post by: tasty on October 26, 2002, 09:34:21 pm
I believe a week ago several people (I think I remember Ace & Bucc) saying "Oh tasty, you're dreaming - Iowa will never beat Michigan"). Whats the score? 34-9 mothafuckaz!!! Iowa dominated Michigan in every part of the game... offense, defense, special teams. Yeah, I smell roses... the rose bowl, that is

Actually, Deadeye played for Michigan, I didn't go there until my masters.

Yes, it was a train wreck to watch.  Yes, Iowa deserves the win.  Yes, the officials in the Big 10 are still horrible (just look at the holding that isn't called on the first Iowa TD).  Iowa would have won this, with or without good officials, I wont use that as a lame excuse, but these guys still suck!  I swear they are being paid off anymore.

Notre Dame still has the luck of the Irish too, so I expect to hear from Ace yet.

WMU is one point down in the fourth, so I'm listening to that right now.

Here's one thing I don't get.  Why everyone expects Iowa to win the Big 10, and not Ohio State?  The announcers have been on that kick for weeks.

We will see how Ohio St. does against Penn St. tonight. If Ohio state passes the test, they will walk away with the Big 10 crown.

iowa will go rose bowl for two reasons:

1. If Ohio State loses to Penn St. or Michigan, Iowa has an easy last 3 games to the title

2. If Ohio St. goes undefeated, there is an excellent chance they will go to the Fiesta Bowl, meaning Iowa would go to the Rose Bowl as the default (Since they would be tied for the Big 10 lead anyway)

So as long as Iowa wins its last three games, its a win-win situation for Iowa and the Rose Bowl.

That's another thing I hate about college football in recent years.  I loved it when everyone in the Big 10 played each other.  Screw these non-conference games.

This has been a bad day in college football for me.  The only highlights I can see are pretty dim.  USC is beating up on the overrated water fowl (told ya Ace), Bowling Green keeps it's undefeated streak going, and Ohio State is still winning.  But Michigan, Florida State, Auburn, WMU and Air Force all lost.

pffft.  What a day.  All I can say is "Go Wings"!!

Oh, and Tastey, two other teams need to drop before OSU goes to the Fiesta Bowl. assuming that Ohio State finishes up clean.  Iowa still has to play Wisconsin, while OSU's only big one left is Michigan.  The remaining schedule looks about the same from my point of view.

About the officiating, it is pretty bad in the Big 12 as well...today in the CU game there were two blatant blocks to the back that weren't called against Texas Tech.  There were also some really flimsy personal foul calls.

The best call of the day came after Colorado scored on a fumble near the end to seal it...the player threw the ball about 40 seats into the stands and surprise, the ref called illegal celebration...well at least he had one easy call that he made correctly...was worth it too, damned funny it was.  Too bad our kicker sucks...he just flat out missed two extra points and a short field goal.

Oh, and Seneca Wallace probably lost his heisman chances against agasints OU...but if this Kingsbury guy (QB of Texas Tech) had any chance (and he was being mentioned) it was gone today...4 INTs and a fumble to go along with only 350 or so yards passing (which for a team that passes 70 times a game isn't that much ;) ).  Buffaloes, Buffaloes, Go CU.

Seneca who?

College football straight up owned today. ND handed FSU a definite asskicking. Hopefully this will get them some respect finally. As for USC, wahoo!!! Carson Palmer really deserves mention as a Heisman candidate and Mike Williams is the best receiver in the Pac 10 and one of the best in the country. Arizona is barely leading WSU last time I checked, so if WSU could lose it would be huge.

As for Notre Dame.

Didn't I hear today that they have the 109 out of 117 ranked offense?  Can that actually be correct?

That is correct, but I've also heard that they don't have any losses so until they come to the Colisseum and finally get knocked off, it's irrelevant.

Bowling Green has no losses.  Do they get the respect?

That shitty number makes me give Notre Dame less.  And did you see that ball come right back up in his hands after it was knocked out?  There must be a God and he must be Catholic with the breaks that they get.

You are just jealous because you don't have Touchdown Jesus next to the big house.

Bowling Green gets respect for having no losses, but ND gets more because A) they play a far tougher schedule and B) Irish Catholics are way cooler than anyone else.

i wouldn't give a notre dame player the sweat off my balls if he was dying of thirst.

is that enough respect for you?

bahahahahahahahahahahahaha, lmfao! Please tell me that you are a Scotsman like that sheep-shagger Grifter (God bless his soul) was.

Bowling Green has no losses because they play a soft schedule. Hell, they used to schedule Penn State and get their asses beat every year until recently. JoePa got wins 200 and 300 off BG.

All I see is "whine whine whine, I'm mad because ND has such greater tradition and talent than Michigan, whine whine whine, I wish Michigan could be undefeated like ND, whine whine whine"

:P

All the tradition of ND in the world doesn't change that CU routinely hands ND their asses when they play.  I mean the 1994 (season) Fiesta Bowl...that was funny...aww the good old days of Kordell (as a great option QB, not a shitty NFL one), Rashan Salaam (as a great RB, not the biggest heisman bust in history), Michael Westbrook, Charles Johnson.  Damn fine team...to bad they couldn't win against Nebraska or they very well could have won a national championship.

Assassin, he's Irish and Native American, close to Grifter, but not Scott.

Ace, didn't Michigan "teach" Notre Dame the game of Football?  As a matter of fact, is there a school anywhere that has an older tradition of Football then Michigan?

Michigan's all time record is 813-266-36 with 27,131 points for and 11,284 points against.  They've been playing since 1879.  They've had 11 National Championships and 40 Conference Championships.

Notre Dame is 781-247-42 They've also had 11 National Championships.

The overall record is 17-12-1 including this year.  Michigan has the 17.

Also of note is that college football has been going on since 1869.

Deadeye really, really, really, does not like Notre Dame.  Of all the teams he played against, that's the only one he hates.  Michigan losing to Ohio State is bad.  Michigan getting robbed by Notre Dame while the refs are giving it too them up the poop shoot is like slapping his mother.

The wierd thing about Iowa Michigan was it was at the big house. Thats gotta be the hardest place to play besides the Swamp and Maybe one or two others. I got UVA winning NCAA B-Ball this year  :-)

that's why they play the games.  iowa came out for the win, michigan looked slow and not up for the game.

the refs sucked, yet again.  but iowa deserved that win, refs didn't make a difference in the win collum, just the score.

i predict that michigan will knock off ohio state, just to knock them out of the bcs.  it's a big 10 tradition.
