Title: Davan Was locked and I just had to Comment
Post by: EUR_Zaitsev on October 25, 2002, 01:07:40 pm
Being a kid on Gameranger kicks ass. While older players have already formulated views on the world, thus there is no point in arguing them, Kids get to hear things. Unlike myself, I know that most kids dont like to watch the news and its a place not only to play games for free and have fun but also to learn about things. I have been on Gameranger for under a year and my opinion is respected amongst the common R6 folk. I feel that you assumption on the fact that was age only worsens our out look to those who ARE infact iffy about younger people playing. Thus I believe the "shut up davan" was an offhand remark or someone in a bad mood, not directed towards your age if they even knew what it was.

silent killer, you'd still be mocked for saying something like that.  not because of age, but because it's not quallified.  what makes the green party better then all the rest?  why is it better then the reformists or the wigs even?  age gives you one thing, experience.  how much experience do you have with these different parties?  why should your opinion matter?

here's the rub.  i can't remember who said it, but it is so true.  "the statement that everyone is intitled to an opinion is wrong.  everyone is entitled to an informed opinion.  if you don't actually know what you are talking about, you don't have the right to voice that opinion."  talking about things that you don't really know about, is stupid and arrogant.  and invites all kinds of disrespect.  what's worse is when you wont even get informed once someone points it out.

zaitsev, now there you have an example of stereotyping (you know, that thing you accused cossack of in another thread).  us older people have already formulated our opinions?  thanks for giving an example for davin on why it's not your age that makes me mock you, but your arguments.
