*DAMN R6 Forum

I am looking for a server to host our |?K| website.  Does anybody have any good suggestions?  MacClans won't host us because Bucc said he doesn't like my style and he's carrying Grifter's grudge towards me, so count that option out.  They also went ahead and banned me from their forums so I can't ask them to host our site no more.  If you guys have any good suggestions, please share them with me and anybody else that might be looking for a good server.  Thanks

just out of curiousity, did you consider tripod or geocities?

our first site was hosted by geocities.  We didn't like it after the 20mb hourly limit(or is it less, I forget).  Cjb I will look into.  Thanks.

Just in case anyone is interested, the reason that we wont host for Rapid was Deadeye's.  Although, after talking to Rapid about it, I agree wholeheartedly.

I went through the chat logs, and saw what a pest he was making of himself on macclans chat before.  We have no wish for the crap that seems to surround Rapid to go on around MacClans.  I cary no grudge with Rapid, because I haven't really dealt with him.  I do not like the crap I've seen him pull though, and wont be helping him out.

Seeing as we are providing this service for free, I don't think anyone can really complain.

A good site is http://www.hostultra.com (http://www.hostultra.com), which allows unlimited space, and can allow you to upload up to 1 MB. They also have other things, check it out. After that, you could go to http://www.cjb.net (http://www.cjb.net) to redirect it.

hmm... if you've got ATT cable, they offer some very nice space that comes free with your internet service.. most ISPs offer something of this sort. I'd check out what your ISP offers, it's usually the best option since they usually don't load it up with ads.

F.Y.I. I don't log onto MacClans chat much, if at all.  But when I have, I often saw people impersonating me and talking shit under my name.  If you're gonna go thinking that was me, then you were fooled by the many clowns around.  Anyways, after you couldn't hold a straight conversation with me on GR when I asked you for space to host our website, I wouldn't want to use up any of your "space" for "Macintosh Clans" anyways.  All you could say is that "you don't like my style" and wouldn't elaborate and now you come in here saying that you don't like me cuz crap I've pulled and all this bs.  Get a life with your grudges you feel so entitled to.  Everything that's ever came up, has been properly dealt with, and if I was such a bad person, *DAMN would've done away with me.  I don't even know you bucc and you don't know me, unless you're someone else that you don't care to share with us...    Anyways, you got very weak points and I find it amusing you think you have chat logs of me of MacClans Chat when I've rarely visited it, in which I got my IP for a game and got on.   If this is your way of treating people you have "grudges" with, by coming in these forums and giving poor excuses and lies to make me look bad to please others,  I have one word for you, Karma.  You got the right to refuse your service bud, but you don't have the right to come in here and talk out your ass claiming nonsense like you just did.  Just listening to you makes me not want to affiliate myself to anything you have to do with, and I would vote on others to boycott your service for being such Arrogant Power Tripper.  Nobody asked you for any reasons and I explained why not to have MacClans be mentioned for an option.  You obviously want to spread hatrid towards me and that is what I find so inappropriate.  Carry your macclans name all you want, but you really are not down to support the Mac community.  You stereotype people because of others feelings and use it to try and affect me.  If you would've gave me space, cool.  Since you didn't, still cool.  I don't care, I just wanted to involve myself and my clan with anything that has to do with our community, and being that you were offering space, I found it appropriate for us to support your service by being part of it.  Didn't know personal politics were going to come in effect and then some of the weakest excuse I've ever heard, to top it off.  I'll be happy not to support your service and I find it amusing how you think that in any way affects me or my clan.  You just showed our community how lame you really are by the way you just treated me and my clan.  I've shown as much support as possible by following all BL rules. promoting the *DAMN site and the MacClans site, accepting consequences on all of our actions under all circumstances, and we stand strong and proud.  Your service, your call, but my opinion is here to be shared with all and I find it extremely lame how you stereotyped me and then "banned" me from your service.  Especially when I'm the one that supported the remembrance of Grifter the hardest by making a page dedicated to him with quotes from just about EVERYBODY that logs onto GR on a daily in a RS game, the game Grifter was knowns for.  Of course I did that because I felt bad that me and Grifter couldn't become buddies after all our competitive differences.  Anyways, |?K| loves all you moving targets out there!  Don't believe the hype!  Often imitated, never duplicated.

Ace, either you forgot to lock this, or someone decided to unlock it.  I'll give it one shot at a resonable discussion, then forget about it.  I know you were there to see this the last time, so you probably think this is useless, but, I'll try.


Rapid, you can't say things like that while taking a pot shot at me.  That's why it shouldn't have been listened to, and wasn't.  You could have just said "MacClans wont host us, so we need to find a different host."  Just like when Deadeye said no, he said it in the nicest possible way.  You just couldn't take no as an answer.


FYI, you had a very long and very rude conversation in MacClans chat one night with Mauti, over the mock site crap.  Yes, as I've told everyone, all your private messages show up in the logs and are there for us to see.  We usually don't read them, but I was reading the logs for a different reason.

Also, I boot people that pretend to be you on MacClans chat.  I don't allow it.  Out of the four bans there have been on MacClans, they were all for using your name or Evill's.  How do I know, I see the IP's.  That's how I know it was you that said those things and not someone else.  Yes, I know that you have a dynamic IP, I've seen the changes, but there are no other visitors from your ISP, so it's pretty easy to figure out.  That's where I got my impression of you.  Mauti was trying hard to explain himself and you just kept spamming stupid messages, insulting him and not listening to anything he said.


Rapid, this all started with a simple no.  Said in a nice way.  Then you have to talk about grudges (which I've said, I have no grudge against you, because I don't play RS and haven't had to deal with you).  Anyone that really wants to see can see your posts, they are still there, and, like here, will show if they've been edited.  You may have found it appropriate to support us, but that feeling wasn't mutual.  Sorry, but it isn't.

As for the page you did in remeberance of Grifter.  Good for you.  We don't owe you a thing for that.  I don't know why you did that, from what I hear, Grifter thought you were a huge asshole.  And I told you that your tribute didn't ring sincere to us.  One reason would be the jokes you made when Deadeye came onto GR and told people about it.  He said you had the nerve to joke to him about it.

Rapid, on GR I tried to talk to you, I didn't call you names.  I was very honest and open with how I and we felt about it.  You were the hostile one.  Saying I had some kind of grudge.  Saying that I'm Power Tripping.  I'm sorry that you don't like to hear the word "no".  If you really want to discuss our decision, why we came to it, why I feel this way.  Fine, I have no problem with it.  If you just want to bad mouth us because you didn't get your way, then that's a different matter.  I can talk to you about his privately or out in the open.  Or, I can simply hope you go away.  Doesn't really matter to me at all.

But you might try hosting it on www.clanpages.com (http://www.clanpages.com) if you don't like the other suggestions.

Do you want a free server, or a pay server. Also, how much MB on the server, any other qualities (MySQL, CGI, etc.) and anything else. Saying "I need a server to host" brings up a lot of possibilities. Also, do you want a server to HOST it (like redirect, like cjb.net) or a server to MAKE a site (geocities, tripod)
