Title: Ghost Recon Mods Post by: Toby on October 07, 2002, 11:09:35 pm So now that the game's release is about two weeks away, does anyone have any idea how the mods are set up: will porting them over to the Mac be as (relatively) simple as RS? Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on this - otherwise, it'll be fun trying to figure it out...

You will have the same probs: exe installer and control chars [] but I hope that now all game engine and script commands are ported for the Mac so you REALLY only have to wipe the chars out and not rewrite the viccondition and mission files as you had to do for some RS mods.

Title: Re:Ghost Recon Mods Post by: Toby on October 19, 2002, 12:35:59 pm I believe it reached Gold Master about 2 weeks ago, so it should be imminent. It includes Desert Siege but does not include Island Thunder. And I'll leave the converting mods bit up to Mauti, the god of converting...

I'm running osx so that might help as well. i'm not sure if the same goes for os9. On a side note the manual for GR really sux
I found this last evening at http://www.ghostrecon.net/ (two stories down) "Ghost Recon for the MacIntosh is now available, full details here. What PC gamers want to know of course, is can we play against (or with!) Mac gamers across the virtual Ghost Recon battlefield? Well, Aspyr Media tell me that we can! So it looks like the old PC v Mac debate is about to take a new direction. Mac gamers can even tap into the huge Mod archive that Ghost Recon now boasts, with one caveat, only zipped mods will install. Executable mods will not install on the Mac, so if Ghost Recon modders wish to open up a whole new audience to their work, they might want to repackage their mods in zip format and let Aspyr Media know by mailing them here." enjoy!!! I hope you get your copies soon!!! Hellman |
