look this maybe a noob post and yes I am a noob, and maybe this has been put up before, but as I said I'm a noob. And because im going paintballing for the first time soon I just wanted to know what you guys think.

Paintball is like laser tag, only more expensive, more painful, and with stained clothes.  I'll take laser tag over paintball any day of the week thank you very much.

I've gotten the biggest rush from paintballing.
Its great because a friend of mine has roughly a mile of land on the outskirts of a state park in washington. We've been camping htere a few times, and it usualy erupts into a all out paintball war.
Its pretty damn scary running throught he woods not having a hb sensor, and having to look all around you  ;D.
The only thing that tops the adrenaline rush of paintballing for me is backcountry snowboarding, simply because if you fall in certain places you die.

Paintball is pretty *DAMN (exuse the pun) awesome... Lazer tag is ok, but usually you either buy the equipment (which is shitty) OR you go to a place that does it for you (totally un-like life... Flashing black lights, unseemingly hiding spots... Walls everywhere... Where would you encounter this!?)

Painball is a lot more competitive... if you get hit in Lazer Tag you're like "Oh.... I got hit..." if you get hit in paintball its like "OMG... DIE YOU SOB"... Finally a motivation not to make the stupid move and run out charging... In lazer tag you just get shot a lot and don't care, as long as you shoot a lot too... Paintball you don't wanna get shot once, the pain can be... you'll see... Just take some cheap clothes that'll blend and find a nice spot (or if you like to rush, rush...) Just make sure you're protected (high tree or behind brush)... Especially on the first time...

First time eh? Down here in FL we play Pball none stop. Me and flip are goin to paintball world cup soon. cant wait for that. Oh paintball is great. Everyone says it hurts which is total bs. First time i played and got shot i was like... WTF. Cause every1 expects some hard stinging pain. Its more like flickign urself really hard. Dont worry its fun as hell and u forget the pain just as quick as ull get shot during the game.  :) . oh and btw, What gun you gonna be using? Rental or do u have ur own? Pball = pwnage. Oh btw shoot for the mask. Mask = instant pop of the ball. If you think it hurts imagine this...5 feet away takin a shot in the arm that bleeds. Thats pain. Just watch ur back ull be fine. oh yeah WOODS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paintball is awesome. It is my "sport" so to say. As far as I a concerned there are two types of paintballers. Speedballers like Rebel and Flip and those who do field craft like me. Fieldcraft is alot slower and requires you to mess with the enemy's mind more. I would probablly pop Rebel in fieldcraft. Then again he would stick his cocker up my ass in speedball.

yea I know about speedball, but I'm not doing that stuff. Plus I probably wouldnt be that good at rushing and ducking and shooting full auto. And as for airsoft... I dont want to get sucked into a sport where guys go around bragging about their $500 LAPD SWAT replica helmet.... oh and the place im going to can be found here www.skirmish.com

sk if you're a beginner the Tipman 98 isn't bad and its not too expensive if you get it in a pack with goggles and a neck protector

Omg, you ripped on airsoft :). The replica helmets arent $500, that would be the REAL kevlar helmet. I like airsoft more because Im going for the realism, without spending a lot of money on realistic pb-ing. And I know you guys have SOMETHING to brag about something in pb :). Youd be surprised at how the useful the gear is (not to mention looking sweet).

Airsoft = BAH!  $500 for a replica gun that shoots little rubber pellets 50 yards, big woopty doo. Now if those liitle pellets explded t would be ok, but having to rely on the honor system when you cant see for sure if you picked someone off is lame. I wanna see the tango covered in paint. I only Pbed one time and it was hellafun, first time I got shot was in the mask on the part that protects your mouth, well shit, the thing still came in popped me in the lip exploding in my face. I was like WTF, your a dead man now you whore. Yea it hurt at first but once you rip someone up its well worth it.

OMFG paintballing is the best  im actually off on the 27th of this month :)

nothing more fun that getting hit in the balls with a paintball going 100mph ;)

there should be more stuff to buy like paintball nades or nukes or maybe smoke nades that would be so cool

There are paintball grenades, sniperman. As a rule, I always carry 6 or 12 with me, depending on the rules of the park and the load I am carrying (armor, weapons, flag, etc.)

Red paint is preferred of course  ;D

God Damn Sin, you go tricked out! Nothing will save you from the commie hiding in the bushes though.

If it is a night battle, my night vision will pick you up and you will either:

a) Get blown away by my auto-cocker
b) Get blown away by my pirahna
c) Get blown away by one of my replica guns
d) Have a paint grenade thrown at your ass and be covered in red paint

Occasionally I will hide in the bushes or hide up in the trees depending on the game format (capture the flag, kill as many as possible, etc.)

I also have body armor depending on how long I will be playing for, I usually put it on if the games are going to last 12 hours or more. Lets just say I look like a U.S. Army Ranger when I go into combat, except for the facial armor to protect me.

A 12 hour game? Holy balls, I thought the typical game was about 10 minutes. Now Im stoked, I need to get out and start playing this more, sounds to be a bit expensive though. If I had to buy just one gun ( A good one, not some shitbag ) what would you suggest? Say somewhere in the mp5 catergory, something with some range but good for cqc.....any suggestions?

Yeah, kilzo I agree on the part with using the honor ststem (But it does help to find the assholes who are cheating and kick them out). If they made airsoft painball BBs, that didnt explode in your gun and get the internals all gunked up like the ones they make now, it would be awesome. But they sure as hell do NOT cost $500 dollars. Those would be the squad support weaponry replicas, like the m249 saw and the m60. The usual price for an M4 would probably be around $250, as a good PB gun costs more. The upgraded ones shoot way further than 50yds, and they arent rubber, theyre plastic :).

some kid showed me one of his paintball grenades, but I dont know if its the same one sin uses. All he did was pull the pin and chuck it in a bunker and it spun around spraying the whole bunker full of paint. If anyone was in there their a whole side of their body would be dripping with paint. All i could say was "..."

Hah. That sounds like a decent paint grenade. My friend had one, and there's this thing you pull off on the side, and paint just starts sprinkling out of the hole there after about 2 seconds. It seemed pretty crappy to me, but I'm sure they make better ones, like the one Shade's friend had. In Florida, paintball is pretty big, and depending where you go, the games last 10-15 minutes, unless you're off with your friends in the woods and just have a big ass battle. Paintballs don't really hurt all that much, they just really piss you off.  I don't wear any protection, other than a mask of course. I wore a cup for a while, but it just got in the way, and I thought the chances of getting hit down there was pretty slim, so I stopped wearing it. Now I usually just wear some cargo pants and a black shirt, and its all good. Paintballs do leave pretty nasty welts and bruises, depending on the range. Most fields have a no bunkering rule(I think thats what they call it). That means you can't shoot anyone if you're closer then 10-15 feet from them. I might of got the name of the rule wrong, but I think thats what its called. I've never tried Airsoft. It sounds fun as hell, but I don't have that much money, and I can barely paintball once a month. Must get new job...
