Title: We Have A Problem Houston!!!! Help!!! Post by: .vooDoo. on September 17, 2002, 05:24:26 am I was in osx and all my ping at this time of the night seemed fine. I rebooted in os 9 and all my pings were elevated for some reason. Ex: in osx they were all in the 100's, in os9 they were all in the 400's. I thought i may as well reinstall gr3. I trashed the prefs. and the app. I went to www.gameranger.com and dl'ed the app. and tryed to install. It will not complete the dl and I cant get GR to work on either os's. Has anyone ever incountered this problem. If so...can u help. Im on cable(broadband) with a g4 400mhz. HELP!!!

I tried everything under the sun and nothing worked, finally I had to bite the bullet and do a clean install. After that it downloaded perfectly and I was up and running again. Now my RS crashes every 10 minutes though....but thats what I had to do, hopefully you can find a better fix but I doubt it.
Good luck...Kilz Title: Re:We Have A Problem Houston!!!! Help!!! Post by: .vooDoo. on September 17, 2002, 03:42:59 pm can you tell me exactlly what you mean by "clean install"
what did you do step by step??? Title: Re:We Have A Problem Houston!!!! Help!!! Post by: Ace on September 17, 2002, 05:34:36 pm To do a clean install of OS 9, insert the OS 9 CD and launch the installer. One of the options it will give you is to create a clean install of just the System folder and leave all your other files untouched.
(Don't you just love it when a step-by-step "detailed" set of instructions for a Mac OS install takes two sentences?) Title: Re:We Have A Problem Houston!!!! Help!!! Post by: tasty on September 17, 2002, 06:59:23 pm hold "c" while restarting to boot up from a CD.

Post by: Flame on September 17, 2002, 09:45:57 pm I also had the problem of having pings elevated. I thought maybe my ISP had problems but, now GR's down, so maybe that's what's wrong. There was also a message about a server move again?
Title: Re:We Have A Problem Houston!!!! Help!!! Post by: 0 Kilz:M: on September 17, 2002, 10:57:06 pm Exactly, but I did a full clean install. Insert your startup disk, hold down C. I deleted my entire Hard drive so it was like my computer straight out of the box again, it sucks reinstalling your stuff, but it cleans all your corrupt out and gives you a fresh start.
