Senior in terms of length of time on forums, or post count? We already know that a high post count doesn't mean anything when dealing with n00bs.

Maybe just choice members, the elite, the cream of the crop.  lol yea maybe not just senior members because that may encourage spamming to get into the forum, it should be people that have shown themselves well on these forums and are respected.

I say member's that have been member's on this forum for awhile...

As someone said, it should not count on the number of posts, or how senior u are on these forms. It just has to deal with the most rational and non-ignorant people.

I say, elites and well respected. Senority does count.

And which members should have access? I need a list so I can create a new forum rank. At all it would be easier to do it by posts but of course some value poster like Bucc and deadeye wouldn't have access so I need a list pls.

Could i put my name into the hat? i think it would be great to have a section of the forum to chat maturly in. thats what i like about the macclans forum.

This all sounds elitist and WTOish to this Russian Nihillist. BTW what is considered senior? A year. I myself have been here for 9 months.

I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand, the idea is very elitist and I think it could lead to problems. For example, who gets to decide who can go post there or not. If you do it by post count, n00bs could spam their way in. If you do it by how long people have been on the forums, you are going to be including stupid people who have been around for a while and smart people who just signed up recently. If you do it arbitrarily, people will complain "But why don't I have access?" On the other hand, it seems like a godsend. I don't post as much anymore on here because the majority of stuff seems to be just a lot of bullshit. Having a section where the non-n00bs could go would be nice. If you choose to go forward with this Mauti, I would like to help set it up, figure out who would be allowed, and/or moderate.

Hmm i think its a good idea but the choosing would b hairy because there are people that come from PC who just got on Macs so there newbs and vets who just got on forums among the other things that ace listed

I think the people that pick them should be dest, ace, wrath, mauti and others.

Cossack and Ace have good points. Anytime you create and "elite club" it causes resentment and unrest in the general population.

Here is a possible solution: Allow everybody in conditionally. If people behave themselves and post only when they can add to the conversation then they can stay. Those who's purpose is to spam or otherwise annoy will be removed from the forum.

That way no one can complain about being left out because everyone had a chance to prove they can post in a constructive manner. If they got kicked out it was based on their actions and not their popularity.

I wouldnt mind having an elite section set up...I am rather sick of newbies running wild and not being able to carry a decent debate with other people. To say the least, I am mildly surprised that no one stupid has invaded the debate thread between Cossack and I (Later joined by alaric and bucco).

If this elite "Black Ops Centre" gets set up, count me in...hell, I would nominate Dest (since he mentioned it first) and Ace (the longest standing mod) to moderate it. Maybe we could have some intellegent discussions that dont get bogged down or derailed by people who dont understand simple logic.

As for allowing people in, I would suggest a nominating process and the people get screened by a few choice people...but of course you will have bitching from the people who don't get in.

Mauti, if you do go through with this, set it up like the BL Moderators section where only the people who are in can view the posts and respond.

Ace you are welome and about bitching from other people you don't see this forum part if you don't have access to it. Like you don't see the *DAMN Member Only part with over 500 posts or the BL Admin Zone. However the only worry I have is that if all value poster move to the Black Ops Centre the GG will totaly fall apart. So may we should start interesting threads there and then after some value posts were made we always move it to the GG.

Further I think there shouldn't be more than 20people in it only a handful so Black Ops and GG can work hand in hand.

Maybe then when you have some members, people can be nominated and the people in it will vote if they are in.  If like 3/4 say yes, they should be let in?  Just an idea, Hazard said pretty much the same thing in SK's thread in Suggestions.

At the risk of sounding like a worthless poster, I'd just like to back up what Ace said.  I have the same mixed feelings, but ditto on wanting to be included.

Alaric brings up an interesting suggestion. I'm not saying we should necessarily implement this, but it shouldn't be thrown out. Maybe we could do a modified version of it where we have 20 or so full members and give conditional/trial membership to groups of people at a time. For right now, I'm gonna send my list to Dest and see what we can come up with together to send to Mauti

not that i'm against this or anything (i'm not, i'm actually for it) but this sounds kind of like mac clans when it restarted, know what i mean?  it just seem rather excessive to me  to have 2 forums that seem to be serving the same purpose

I think he pretty much summed up the problem I have with this though - many of the best posters are inactive now...

But it would be a shame if they couldn't drop by and add a few pearls of wisdom whenever they saw fit.

So while its probably a good idea to limit the forum to 20 or so active participants, I would include Bander, Wrath, P. Roy, Holo, and others just in case they ever came back.

Like Ace the pony lover said. We have a set list, but after that we might take each person on an idividual basis, that is still being disscussed.

So if you don't get in, don't be pissed. You have to have a good foundation b4 u can start expanding. So give it a little time and it could grow.

I'm not saying spamming and smart comments is not going to be in this forum. B/c there will always be a time to ass someone. It's just those who take it to far that we are trying to thread out.
