Post by: ifB_Stryker on July 06, 2002, 06:13:47 pm
Some of you might know us, and some of you might not. ?I am the new leader if the clan [ifB], and I have been in charge for about? 3 weeks I think. ?The old leader and I have been debating wether or not to use ranks in the clan. ?Asking your guyses opinion on the subject, especialy clan leaders that have been around. ?Also, any one own a PS2? ?Mine is totaly fucked up man. ?Doesnt play jack. ?>:(

The use of Ranks can be good at somtimes, It all depends on how you want to base your clan. Just a 2 leader ranks system works fine. If you want to make it more confusing then get commanders too. If you get into to many Ranks, it just screws things up. Keep it simple

ranks only suck if they actually mean anything.

Stryker, my PS2 has been fucked up for about a year now. my bro dropped it and now it'll only play game son CD's, nothing on DVD's. It's supposed to cost me like $150 to get it fixed, plus not having it for up to 6 weeks. A new one is only $200, so i'm prolly just gonna bite the bullet and get a new one.

Dude, im totaly stoacked about this man.  I just got off the phone like, 2 minutes ago talking to SCEA, and they will repair it for free man.  But I gota ship it in and it will take like, a whole month to fix it.  But hell, its gonna be free, well, except for 9 bucks S&H, but I dont care.  But man this blows.  I borrowed GTA3 from a friend for 2 weeks while hes at Maui, and now I cant play it. >:(  Oh well, later and hope I get more replies on this subject.

I just bought my PS2 ($160) and should be getting it early next week.  I have GTA3 rented and ordered GT3 as well.  They do tend to break easily though, not made to be tough like Nintendo systems.

About ranks, I think outside of having distinct leaders who make decisions about who is in the clan and who enforces rules, ranks are a bad idea.  At DAMN, anyone can start and play in a CB.  When you get into limiting who can play, that is where ranks ruin a clan as it makes many players not get a full experience (although AK's system has actually worked well in training players but the system has to a degree been why many of those people trained play for different clans).

Capt., it won't take away as much of mine as I ordered the Gameshark as well so I can use the 10 trillion dollars cheat and cut out all that nonsense repetition that I disliked in the first two.  I don't really want to have to drive one race 100 times just to get my various cars in shape.  Also, if I can't get past a license test I'll be able to code my way past them.  I will not however cheat my way through the progression of races as I've never had a problem with that aspect.  (In GT1 which had way too difficult of license tests, I easily beat the races but the license parts I don't do as well because you can't go off the track and I like to use all of what is between the walls and a good bit of the walls as well when I'm driving because the more space you can use the faster you can make the turns.

Dude, GT3 is the most bitchen one out of all the GT games to me.  Yet I still like GT2 alot.  Using that Game Shark is pretty cheap man.  But still, using the health and ammo cheat in GTA3 is pretty fun.  Oh well, gota turn to the dark side sometime or another.  For the AK ranks thing, I never knew how they did it, but I do know about that lower case and upper case thing that I might use.  Crap? my LP cd is tripping? Oh well, thread closed.  Later all

GT1 would be Gran Turismo 1 ;).
I know the difference but we are talking about the car racing one (although I have GTA3 rented as well).  I prefer to GTA series AT because Auto Theft is the proper term used by the criminal justice system, not Grand Theft Auto.
