Title: HK ITD v2.1 idea
Post by: Andrew on April 06, 2001, 09:59:53 pm
I would just like to thank you guys, I have been waiting for a mod with an OICW for so long (ever since the article was in popular mechanics). ?Finally, one that comes with one!! ?Just an idea, the top part of the gun fires HE rounds, would there be anyway to get it so the OICW fires those but still fires rifle rounds? ?Like when u press the change fire button (ie single shot, 3 shot burst) into making it so u change it to grenade firing... ?If you could look in to that u would make my day. ?that would be so cool...

The HK ITD mod version 1.2 has the OICW in it also. You select the gun as the primary, then select 40mm HE ammo for the secondary and you can fire both, just not at the same time... The HE rounds are very effective....

The reason I put the HE rounds in the secondary spot was to help with the multiplayer aspect of the game. Most multiplayer games on the Zone and Mplayer the host will disable the "launchers", so I put all of them as secondaries, and at the bottom of the weapon list to make it easier to disable. In single player all you do is select your secondary weapon and you are blastin away with 6 20mm HE rounds. :)

problem is it takes a good ole 1-2 seconds to switch to the secondary... anyway u can change the speed of changing the weapon?

hmmm good question. I'm sure it can be played with, it's just a matter of finding the value. But we want to keep things realistic, and it does take a sec to swap weps in real life....

Actually the switch between the two weapons is real fast. What I did was to make the 20mm part have a laser sight. Now that sight has 0.01 lag time, so the switch should be real quick. I have not timed it, but from what I remember it goes real smooth. :)
