Title: How does this one work...
Post by: Asterax on July 11, 2002, 07:37:46 pm
I'd like someone to be able to successfully play this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/stores/detail/-/videogames/B00005V6C2/qid=1026431349/sr=1-7/ref=sr_1_7/103-2045955-7294250. It takes me like 16 keys to play RS.

simple...just dont play it. I have Rainbow 6 for the N64 and it is hard as hell to play it. You cant lean, and to change options, you have to go into an in-game menu. It is a bitch and I hate consoles/handhelds for fps games except for the bond games.

No, the version of R6 for N64 is easy as pie, except for the recon missions. ; )

sounds like Metal Gear Solid for gameboy. IT's just a name slapped on a totally different game style. Actually, the MGS on gameboy is probably a lot like the old Metal Gear games.

Hell, how did I miss this thread. ?Yes, FPS in general suck on consoles so I don't play them except in rare circumstances (Goldeneye). ?Basically the key to console FPSs is a very good auto-aim or incredibly bad AI because any different is just not going to happen with control stick aim.

Sin, R6 for the Mac didn't have lean so the N64 version (which I did play and beat pretty easily) wouldn't. ?The N64 controller was pretty good when it comes to playing FPS when compared to others and I think the C buttons actually worked better than having a second control stick.

Yes, obviously a GBA version is going to be tough. ?They do have some true FPS games on it like Doom but with the 4 buttons and a d-pad set up no FPS will even be decent on it if you do any aiming.  The control stick needs to be used for movement so they have to make the games play in a way that you just press the button and what is in front of you dies which sucks as well.

The GBC Metal Gear game was a port of the NES game so yes it is like the old one ;).
