Hey guys how's it going? This is a question for Coco. I was just wondering when you will be making a GHOST RECON mod. I've searched all over the NET for a great weapons mod for GR but the only place that has a great mod is NISHI'S. And I'm tired of playing with it. He has some nice guns and stuff but I need some DTD action. Since I have lost my UO CD for good I have been forced to play GR. I miss waiting for your mods to come out. Now I am left out. I was just wondering if you have any plans to release a mod. That would rock because GR doesn't seem that hard to mod. Maybe a US TAC GR MOD eh? Or something along those lines. I haven't DL OSV but I can tell that it rocks.

a good Mod for GR is the Gunslinger Realism Mod (a bunch of new weapons) or the BajaBravo Mods (http://www.tacticalgames.net/bajabravo/).

But I hope Coco and Co. will present us a DTD GR Mod in the future, too.

I really waant to see a DTD mod for GhostRecon. It's all I've been playing for the last couple months, I haven't even looked at UO for a long while now. Guess only time will tell. ?;)

I have played RS/UO exclusively with yoru MODs. I find them to be the finest available. I have moved on from RS to GR and none of the MODs available for GR even come close to rivaling your.s

In short, I eagerly await a DTD release for GR.

I bought it last night... I really only had time to set up the keys and play the first campaign mission, but it's a really nicely done game. A lot more running around outside, a lot less up close and personal, but the sounds, effects, etc are very well done. I'll play thru it and get the hang of it and the file system and we'll see what happens.

As for Desert Seige, does that add anything to the game like UO does, or is it just a mision pack like BT or CO? Cobra, you would like this I think... It feels more like infantry, you can even hear yourself breathing when you run!

Well the 1.2 patch comes with DS but you can dl that seperately too. Also the official plugins come on the DS cd but, again, you can dl those as well. Personally I like DS a lot. It's a great, challenging campaign. I've notices that if you run some mods with DS active the weapons don't seem too effective. Anyway I hope to see a DTD GR mod soon.

GR will drive you insane... I played it on VET and almost pissed my pants. The missions are hard as hell. The RUSSIAN enemies put up a good fight too. Three shots will not take em down. I also had the pleasure of getting all the SPECIALISTS.

it's a nicely done game. the CQB isn't as fast paced as in UO because u move slower, and i heard somewhere that there can only be 2 level buildings in GR, but other than that its an awesome game. besides... just LOOK at that city map :D

i also like the multiple (alternating) splash screens and the fact that rsb files aren't separated by body paart. this way you dont have a million and a half rsb files to edit, you have one big one and the program just kinda "knows" where to put each part on the model. makes modding a whole lot easier. you can do a whole lot with those specialist skins too, i made Jack Stone's body the standard sniper model in my camo mod, for example. stuff like that adds a whole lot to ur skinning opportunities.

How easy is it to mod? Ive only done weapons for UO and would like to get more involved with the other moddable aspects of the games

not too hard. just be sure to download any converters u can find relating to GR cuz any RS/UO-made rsb<->bmp converters wont read GR's rsb format. after u get a converter that converts GR's rsb's u'll be alright with RS/UO too. think of it as an upgrade.

lol dont forget to convert ur irc, lsd, irs, aspca, qzm and zyx files too while ur at it :P

well if you all are stepping on to ghost recon im comming with you!!! I playd it on the computer of a friend of mine today and its difficult!!! :o . I got shot down all the time without seeing a single tango ;D. But its fun!!! Ill have 2 update my PC cos 63 MB/RAm sux.

I don't think the old rsb plugins will work with GR. The official tools can be dl'ed from here.

just go to @war's utilities page for gr. theres a ton of good stuff there. i use a rsb-tga converter and save them as regular rsb's with the photoshop plugin. GR reads them fine.

I have the necessities, RSB convertor, weapon tagging utility, HEX editor, sample models, etc... the plugins are the same as far as I can tell.

Raven- The 3ds files can be used but they have to be scaled down a ton or else they are huge in game.

Coco-I'd use Mike Schell's Skinner utility, it's so much easier than a hex editor. You might also want to get his Qob->Chr utility if you want to modify or create character models. All the characters from GR and DS were converted to 3dsm format so I'd grab those too.
