this has prolly been kicked around before but i thought we might be able to dedicate it to Grifter, he was a really good player and was in one of the best RS clans.  We could have a commitee that would vote on it.  Add ur ideas, moooooo

But if you're considering anything...make it broad. ?Perhaps simply a roll of everyone who's been active in the community and made it a better place?

example of people in the hall:

grifter, mort, blackhand, loudnotes, bondo, mauti, bander, macrules, etc.  plus many others

example of people NOT in:

peekay, romeo, romulus

I have been Noobing it up seince December of 2001 so I dont know many of these people. Anyhow I think the Ooa Anarchy or Rob should be in the hall of fame. I have seen him get many 8 kill games. As for Clans I would have to go with PsYcO and <<SWAT>> Then again I never met any janitors or POD people. The Janitors sounded like a great clan.

why not have a page where we can list the names of all the non active forum participants, i.e. those who left or retired, you could also put up a hall of shame where the most infamus forum dumbasses can be enshrined

Well, I don't think we'd consider a hall of shame, sorry but even as bad as some people have been there is no reason to bring attention to it.  How about we just focus on the positive.

Certainly both playing and community aspects will be in consideration.  The rate or openness of a hall of fame and how people make it in will be determined at a latter time.

As for players, I would probably agree with whatever assassin says.

well i havent been around long, but fron what i gather, the boys(and any girls if there are any) over in kos have some serious skilz, andthere fun to play with too
and loth's games rock!
c4 wars and nade wars all the way!(and dont forget the rubber shottie game, that was a blast)

 What about ViRuS Brain, Personally I think that they have more skill then KoS and after all they did beat them.  Sniperman and Silverblade are great, along with some other ViRuS members.  ViRuS, why did you let Flies in?

I'm not taking anything away from KoS either.  I think Ultimo, Viper and Geek along with some others are great.  Mb they should be put in under Fear though, after all that is where I believe they made their names.  And what about Faus?  He may possibly be the best rs player I have ever seen.

Here's my vote(s):

r6:  
clan - SiX.  Hands down. No contest.  Without a doubt.  POD and SEALs would be good considerations for a multiple clan hall o' fame though.

players - John Nothing.  Also hands down. Other players to consider, Kordova, Wrath, Macsrule, Jesse, Blackhand, various other SiX and SEALs members.

rs: never did play it much, but...
clan -SWAT, KoS

player - grifter, civ, and various assorted SWAT members

Those are my votes.  As for the Idea, well, it's a surprisingly good one to come out of a bovine.

hehe i dont know about sploosh and badboy for dragon slaying but i do agree on retal, he did his fair share of slaying a few dragons on good days=D

Well, hands down, RETALIATION was by far the best player to ever grace Gameranger. No disrespect to anyone else, but this guy could flat out play. He repeated made people their bitches, and in every cb that he played in, our team never lost more than 1 game (usually out of 10). 7-8 kills ON OTHER PEOPLES HOSTS were the norm for him, even though he played through 250-300 ping at the least.

Not to mention that he made dragons, SWAT's, KoS' and PsYcO's his own personal bitch.

Grifter had similar traits, but didn't have the ability of RETAL. I do think however that Grifter should go into a HOF.

As for this Hall of Fame junk, shouldnt it be reserved for the people who are no longer playing? You don't see Barry Bonds in Cooperstown yet.

My list of clans that should go in to the HOF:
R6: POD, syrup (If I were to include active clans: SiX, *DAMN, janitors, SEALs [in its former glory of course])

RS: SWAT, PsYcO, FEAR, dragon (active clans: KoS)

RAIN would have gone on the RS list if they hadn't been a bunch of scum and tried to cheat on the old battle league.

The problem with doing the retirement thing Sin is that it would exclude too many players, I mean, when is someone actually retired, if we all move to playing GR when it comes out are we retired from the old games.  Another problem with it is I can't stay retired from R6 and I've become active again so I wouldn't be elgible ;).

Anyway, I don't think enough people are retired to make that rule effective.

And as many of you overlook...


Most Improved clan and Winner in 3 Ladders in 2002 *DAMN BL from 1/02 - 5/02 = |?K| (Not to mention currently #3 in new season) 8)

Also I agree with Bondo about old clans for this is a new thing. ?This was all built in spirit of all new competition that had arrived to the BL. ?Now there's clans that simply retired to try and ride old fame out instead of staying active like many of the REAL great clans (Ex: *DAMN, SiX, and last season's top 3 and this season's top 3 in OverAll) (Excluding TASK since they disbanded). ?Clans that give up simply because they feel they can't keep up with the new competition should simply be forgotten rather than remembered. ?It's about those of us that are here to stay to keep making our difference. ;) ?

Well, certainly the retired players and clans would be in the running, I just don't know about not counting active players/clans.

A) OK RAPID we get the point you won the battle league how bout this, if win this seasons RS ladder and you win it buy beating the 2 clans above you not by them droping out or something i will RESPECT you and your clan.

Now to the matter of B) Plz rapid i dont think you can compair yourselve to SiX or *DAMN and how do you evan know SiX.s abilitys becasue u only play RS?

Yes, I know SiX's skills, like 2 of them owned me and my whole team like 6 games in a row in R6. ( I hate R6 ). I can't remember who, however one of the SiX's was my first kill in R6. Very good players.

Personaly, for this Hall of Fame thing, I think that it should be only for retired players, such as PsYcO aSsAsSiN, KotA NukeRain etc.  And clans based on how they did in the Battle League. Perhaps retired clans who ranked 3nd or better in a battle league? You just thoughts.

Another question I will throw out to the modern day R6 players: Where does the scrotum clan (SAC) rate among clans of today and yesteryear?

hey, breaking 1000 is hard to do, this forum has what, 300 some odd members? and so far only 2 have done it(i'll be along very shortly) that's less than 1/100 of the population of the forum. ?if those people dont deserve recognition, who does?
btw, i originally suggested that because that would also put grift in the hall of fame
(of course we could always induct him as an honorary member)

The Hall of Fame has only one real purpose to record the seasons and special events like tournaments. To make this clear the HoF isn't designed for players or clans nevertheless some players will be added like Grifter but that is the exception.

Not counting the 15 clans JN was in for a few days and thus made good SAC would fall behind SiX, SEALs, DAMN, and PoD in my estimation, but when they got about 5 SACs on their mysterious LAN type pinging they were a force to be reckoned with.

 The hall of fame should be used to keep statistics of the battle league and its seasons and the finishing spots or a clan each season.  Also I think when the 1v1 tounements, probably the next one we have because more people will now know about it, the winner should possibly be in the hall of fame or something.

I believe I once had about 5-10% of the total postings on the forum....

Then again, Mauti once had 100%

let me get this straight, so clans that disban, only do it cuz they cant compete with the new competition?

if so, let me controdict you,

1. SWAT- record of like 28-3 and one of the most challenging clans to over come, (didnt disban due to "competition", since it was one of the TOUGHEST CLANS ) ((not going to bring up the win against AK =D who is "new competition))

2. PsYcO- disbanned due to players leaving, not due to "competition" they were another one of the strong clans to beat.

3. Kota- undefeated like 6-0 till they disbanned, and not due to competition. remember rapid they beat Ak too..(a win is a win, even in overtime)

4. {dragon} - another one of the best RS clans there were. went undefeated, beating the toughest clans out there including SWAT,FEAR, ICE, etc. And they did not disban due to competition, they disbanned due to lack of leader showing up. and they loved to compete against any challenge

so rapid, saying that clans that are disbanning due to the competition is utter bs. many great clans that were here, would easily be able to defeat the top 3 of this seasons battle league...

research please...

Now I don't know how well SAC has done as of late, but from what I remember of them they were getting to be in that SiX/SEALs/POD level, but not quite there yet. Skippy especially was awesome.

Janitors has never gotten any respect, simply because we eschewed clanbattling for fun activities like tking and fbanging.  Who started the hump?  I believe it was honorary member Jesse....

Actually, it was Syrup as a whole. No single one of us can take the credit/blame for that. Oh well, just further evidence that Syrup r0xx0rs and jn suxx0rs.

NOOOOOO!  Damnit...I joined only a few weeks too late to have learned about syrup in time to join.

Oh well...jn took everything from syrup and made it better though.

Oh and as to jn being counted...maybe if you stopped insisting on being called an anti-clan then maybe you could be considered ;). jn and Syrup are the two best anti-clans though.

The answer? Fresca!  That's right.  We took well known practices (Humping) and took them to a new level.  For example, two jn would enter CSL on oppisite teams.  they would block the stairs, tking their teammates.  then they would hump in the middle, until they got bored and deagled the other in the head.

Or we would  hump in the blue door, mowing down friend and foe alike.

Or fb our teammates, whip out our benellis and make those bitchez dance.

et cetera.

SAC (by the way, who named it the scrotum squad?  I know it was jn!) was a good clan.  When POD disbanded it replaced it in the top three.  

Brain, On August  31st i will be at college, with a new g4, complete with ethernet, GR and r6.  (RS is laggy and blows)  Needless to say, I will be there to go old skool, the way SEALs all did with their dial-ups.
