Title: Mods run slower?
Post by: bif on September 20, 2003, 02:48:17 pm
Perhaps this is an old question but, I am a newcomer to Ghost Recon and Mods. The Mods I have installed run very slow compared to the original missions in the game. Is this normal and are there any ways to help the situation, other than the obvious graphics settings?
Also, what Mac is considered a minimum "high powered" machine for Ghost Recon?
How about the upcoming Rainbow Six 3 and Splinter Cell?
I am getting ready to either buy a new Mac or get an upgrade - now using a G4/500 with Radeon 8500/64mb and 512mb ram.

The reason why most mods run slower than the original missions is that they either have more detailed textures and higher resolution weapon models or have much more enemies per mission. So you can't do much against it. I would get a Dual G5 in January 2004 after the first revision then the midmodel should be a 2 or 2.2Ghz Dual and the top one will maybe have 2.5Ghz?

Bye,
