Title: single player missions
Post by: SiX spaz on April 24, 2001, 10:22:51 pm
i have been playing single player rs a little bit, and i got curious as to how far peolpe have gotten. has anyone beaten it? i hardly ever play single player, and am stuck on the sixth mission. stealth isn't really my thing. anyone have some tips for me? i can get the security system turned off, but then i get spotted. : ( right now, i can't get on to gr, so i have some time for single player. i guess i'll just keep cracking at it.

I am on the last mission. I played single player a lot. Most because to test if mods work or not.
HBS is the best weapon on the 6th mission.
The last mission is horrible. The level is far to large and yeah I hate it becuase it runs very often out of memory like the last mission of Rainbow Six.

I finished both RS and Urban Ops.  I took me probably 50+ tries with that one steathly mission.  Basically you get lucky especially inside.  Getting down that hallway to the staircase and then out again is a bitch.  Follow the HQ plan and use HBS and use full map mode.  I zoom out the map and just play the entire thing in full map mode.  Then later on there is another mission like that but its much easier.

no way man,
the trick with that mission is to have two recons. one has to be kevin sweeny 'cause he has a really high electronics rating great for disabling security and placing bugs really fast. ?Also, equip both guys with lockpick kits. ?Now, the first guy runs up the side of the dacha, hides under the porch and waits for the guard to pass, then he hides behind the broken wall until the guards have gone through their rounds, once the same guard that passed you under the porch comes back, wait for a short sec, and press your self against the guard house. ?Again, the same guard passes you and you run to the window of the G.house (make sure you use 3rd person view and hb sensor at all times)when the guy in the house goes upstairs, deactivate security and get out fast! wait at the corner until the coast is clear, not too long! and the charge the double doors (with the windows) unlock them with the kit, and hide just around the corner. here's the problem. sometimes different guard positions get you caught when you try to unlock the door keep trying!!now, point your guy's hb sensor into the center of the house. Blam! instant hb sensor tower thingy! with your other guy, travel down the half-tunel path to the right of the starting point and go in the door at the end. (this is where 3rd view becomes really useful. ?wait for the guard to walk towards the balcony. Don't worry this guy is deaf and needs eye surgery to correct his lack of periphiral vision! Give the place a quick scan with your hb then unlock the door with the kit. once inside bug the phone, make sure you leave the door open, and sit back and wait for the perfect time to run upstairs, fortunately, your friend out side has the place coverd with his hb. finaly, go upstairs and place the cam. then wait in the bathroom once the guy goes downstairs again, go down the stairs you climbed use 3rd person to look out when the coast is clear, run out the doors your buddy opened. then chill at the corner. This is your safe haven. the rest is preety straight forward, just TAKE IT SLOW! nothing more frustrating than being caught now!leave one man at a time. And there you have it you survived the dacha! ?please note that this is my strategy for veteran difficulty. Good luck!

Hiya Spaz, just remember this one little thing on the 6th level, the 3rd person view is your best friend.  You can see the guards routes w/o being seen.  You do this throughout the whole map and the level become 150x easier...Hopes this helps some.

(What do you want to bet that Spaz has passed this level, being the post is from APRIL?)

Hmmm...I was having a problem with the same level.  I will definately try that walkthrough and hope it works!
However, I really only play RS in single player, terrorist hunt mode. The only reason I want to beat this level is to unlock the other levels.  Is there a way to unlock all the levels without actually beating them?  I'm a lazy, lazy man ;)

Also(if there is not a way to unlock the levels), how do you put the game into 3rd person perspective?  Ok, so I'm lazy and a dumbass, but I just want to open all the levels! Please help!

Thanks

you can download the completed save files, usually only the pc versions, but you can just delete te control chars (the boxes that look like this []) and i am not sure if you have to change anything else. i had to do this when i reinstalled rs and my save files got deleted... but i never play single player anyway. also, to use 3rd person hit F1

Matt,

Thanks for the feedback.  I actually managed to get past all the levels by cheating!
I just used a cheat code to make me invisible (theshadowknows) so i could just walk right by all the terrorists without them seeing me, or fighting back for that matter.  Lame, i know, but i just did it so i could unlock the levels for play in terrorist hunt mode.  Anyway, thanks again for your efforts.  :)

Observation and Patience.
Watch the rhythm of the guards patrols and the wait for your opening.
In particular, on the second floor, wait and watch that first guard from the back staircase and then watch the guards at the ends of the floor and MOVE when the time is right.
Kit should be a pistol which you can't use anyway and a heartbeat sensor.
