Title: Quaking in our Boots... Something completely different
Post by: BFG on January 26, 2005, 02:00:00 pm
What with all these tactical games from GhR to RvS and AA sometimes i miss me old days of the crazy old 'fraggin' ... and the other night a couple of the :MoD: boys had a bit of a nostalgic moment booting up some Quake III

Anyway... Im itching to play some MP games and wanted to put the shout out to see if any of you nuggests fancied an hour or to crazy frag fest action! Ok its an old game (two years now) but it is still one of the best Engines to run on the mac in terms of speed etc - and when u crank the visuals settings up it still looks great.

Anyway.... ;)

Never played it. I was always an EliteForce whore back before RainbowSix and Rogue Spear.

ps...

u can get the OS X updater from http://www.macgamefiles.com/download.php?item=17355

And also look out for an amazing mod called "Urban Terror" Think Counter-strike/action half life style .... pretty sexy ;)

Update (again) .... Its a OS9 installer but you don't need OS 9 to install

NB: This isspecific to the 1.32 point release.
INSTALL THE POINT RELEASE BEFORE THE GAME ITSELF!

1)  decompress the point release. A package file will be placed on the desktop.
2) Launch the package file - it will open the installer for the Point Release.
3) Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the point release installation.
4) Open the Quake III Arena CD.
5) Open the Quake3 folder.
6) Open the BaseQ3 folder.
7) Copy the PAK0.PK3 file from the CD to the BaseQ3 folder on your hard drive.

The game is now installed. Yay ;)

ps... i spy [a]Ferret on the case!

Wow, if only The screens didn't have the edge to them it would be more fluid.  Shitty FPS too, if thoes were Mac's it would be  rockin ;)
