Title: AA 2.2 and beyond
Post by: l ! l Ross on June 28, 2004, 01:07:34 am

Here is what I know...

ver 2.2 Late Fall 2004 (will use the UT 2004 Engine). The merge of our code to UT2004 will be wrapped up very soon.

Overmatch_Currently planned for April 2005 (will also use UT2004 engine)

We received UE3 code at our dev sites last week (AAPA, AAGA,AAFA). We are in the process of evaluating it for future releases. We'll need to do a lot of work and re-architecting to get ready for UE3 since it is a complete rewrite for Epic. This effort will be going on in parallel with development efforts on ver 2.2 and Overmatch.

Shitty Framerates???  My fps on AA never drops below 50, and most of the time it is at 70 or above.  So maybe you need to trade in your 700MHz G3 iMac for a REAL computer.[/size]   ;)

It's actually 800 MHz G4 but that's ok. Still need a real computer.

AA isn't the best game for FPS. I mean they use the UT2k3 engine. I get 200-250 FPS in UT2k3 with patches. AA I get 50-95. Still very play able but somewhat saddening to see my G5 struggle to get near 100.

But that dosn't guarantee a mac version of AA... hell it just makes it a wee bit more likely fingers crossed ;)

The human eye can not detect anything much faster than 35 fps, so what does it matter that you are not getting 200 fps in AA?  I mean, really, I can not tell the difference between 40 fps and 90 fps in AA.  And honestly, the only way you know what your frame rate is when it is above 35 is by typing into your consol "stat fps".  Otherwise you would be clueless.

GS you can tell the difference, when you turn your head in a game 40 FPs won't seem as smooth as 100.

BITE YOUR TONGUE!  How dare you say that buying a G5 is a waste of money!

***GhostSniper calls for Mysterio to be banished forever for that statement!

Objection on the grounds I was here first and have a better G5. GS fell for the single 1.8 therefore waste of money.

Maybe not all of us have the money to "spend" might be a better way of putting it. Were as you seem to have alot of money to throw around.
