Title: $1800 from apple, lol Post by: 0 Kilz:M: on November 24, 2002, 05:19:10 pm So I was messin around at apple website and applied for a loan, they gave me 1800...lol...I never thought I would get approved, so now what should I buy? Jeb, or Assassin, how is this money best spent in accordance to future gaming?

For best longevity in gaming, and less expensive investment, I'd say to either get a dual 867 or dual 1GHz and upgrade the graphics card. They have many advantages over an iMac. First off, you're not locked into a specific monitor size. Second, you're not locked into a specific graphics card. Third, they are easily upgradable a year or two down the road. i'd recomend buying a base G4 tower and upgrading the graphics card. It would be wise to also upgrade the memory to at least 512megs, it will help 10.2s performance a whole lot. That should show a good comparison as far as speed goes, http://barefeats.com/pmddr4.html A imac would even suit your needs for GHR, but the tower is so much better because you can upgrade the hell out of it. For the price you paid for the 512megs you probly could have gotten a gig off ramseaker.com, oh well it will be a solid computer non the less

But Kilzo, that was the best way to spend your money. As for the monitor, go to either your local computer retailer or http://www.pricescan.com (http://www.pricescan.com) and get an inexpensive CRT monitor (19" or larger). |
