Post by: Tomcio on December 30, 2005, 12:03:29 am
Hi.

When my brother (OSX 10.4) hosts a game via Game Ranger and i try to connect - after "dowloading data from server my (OSX 10.9) GR quits.

Whats the problem?

I´ve tried to join another servers - I am able to play whit some of them.

Updates made: 1.0.1, 1.0.2, 1.0.3, Island Thunder Mac Patch.
Installed mods: DAMN BL Final Map Pack. MP1, MP2, Origmiss.

The same configuration of GR is istalled on by broders machine.

Thx for help.

Tom

Hey Tomcio

although you say you've got the mods all doubled on each machine, this does sound like a traditional mod problem.

Have you tried turning all the mods/mappacks off on both machines and see if you can host/join like that?

If that works then you've got a problem with the mappacks and i would suggest the following: simply copy the mods folder from one machine and duplicate it on to the other so that you know both machines have without question identical mod folders.

If not, have you done the standard procedures of wiping pref files and clearing out caches?

Good luck!!

Are you sure he doesn't have a firewall on or anything to do with the router thats preventing you from joining?

What do you really mean, I dont think that there is a 10.9.
BFG I dont think it lets you get to the Downloading Data screen if you dont have all the mods.  But I could be wrong.

Actually now that I think about it I probly am wrong.

He most probably means 10.3.9, and the problem is most likely in the configuration of the network/router. We'd need more informations about that to get a clue about what might be causing the problem... how both computers are connected to the internet, etc.

I have the same problem, router is fine i think cause i can play games with no mods, mods seem to be loaded as i can play them single. I have Map pack1,2 and final.
