Title: RvS cb'ing procedure
Post by: theweakspot on September 26, 2005, 06:03:39 am
ok, can some admin please break down the RvS cb procedure into something that makes sense.... me, groo, blake and skillz had a hell of a time figuring out exactly how many games to play....

I know we play on 2 maps... how many rounds do we play on each map?  and how many rounds do you have win to win the whole thing?

Best of 5 rounds on each map (first to 3), 6 rounds needed to win entire CB.

Weak didn't we go over this in our cb earlier today? We were playing by the correct RvS setup then......I don't know how you got so confused only half an hour later  ::)

as Spetz said - those are the settings for the setup, as also mentioned in the rules...

Weak is right to be confused, because in the rules III.3 page 16 it says:

CB Length: BEST OF 10 ROUNDS(first who wins 6 rounds) (Serversettings must be set to at least 10 rounds to include possible lagtest and tied rounds) (Rounds are submitted to the *DBL and not the matches!)
Number of Matches: 2
Match Length: 6 ROUNDS (ties don’t count to the length, but will besubmitted with the final score)

So you play always 6 rounds on the first host and then continue on the other host until one clan has reached 6 wins in total.

2 Best of 5 could end in a tie: 3-2 and 2-3 = 5-5 so another game would be needed to play.

So the first host has in the worst case one more game to play: 6-5 end score or in the best case the cb is already over after the first host.

Of course you are also free to agree to play it like Tigah suggested and play then a tie breaker. However with this setup you are maybe forced to play 8 games on the second host while you only played 3 on the first one.(3-0;2-6)

Bye,

Mauti

If you play six rounds on the first server/map there is the risk that the cb will end in only one map with a 6-0 score and that doesn't seem very fun esp. if one team hates that map.  Maybe we should do a first to 3 wins on each map and then if the score is such that there is no 6 round winner after the second match i.e. 3-2 first map, 2-3 second map,  then play another map.  Or maybe there should be a stipulation that if the match is a 3-0 shut-out then a map change occurs without playing the other three rounds on that map to reduce the chance of a 6-0 result from one map/match and allow for a third map/match when necessary.  ???

i love u groo but i dont agree with ya. if a clan loses 6:0 that meens they are just not good enough.... it wouldnt change much if they lose in only 1 match or or in 2... and well u cant hate a map, so that u lose every match and in an other one win the rest of the match...

If thats the case Groo then offer another cb after.  A team that just won 6-0 will most likely play you again right off the bat don't ya think?

But this time make sure the cb starts on your team's fav map... ;)
