Let's open a thread for the new *DBL MapPack. Good news and bad news may be posted here.

I'll start with a good news:

- MapPack 3.0b trivia #1:
The new *DBL MapPack3.0 replaces Packs 1.x and 2.x. If You make a "mega activation" with all 3 Packs be sure You are fit to deal with unexpected issues.

What's next? - Go on!

I have to say that the new uniforms are really great. There was an instance last night on Barn Day... I noticed I was 50 meters from another player when he showed up on my map. I looked in his direction, but saw nothing. Figuring he moved behind some cover so I checked my map again to see if he was still visible. Still there and in the same spot I looked back again. Nothing.. then slowly, after about 5-6 seconds of panning back and forth, I realized the smaller rock in front of the boulder I was looking at was not a rock at all... it was the enemy in the gray sniper kit.

I finally shot him and we laughed about it after the game. Apparently he had the same experience. He could see me on map but not visually. I was kneeling in front of a big bush and wearing the green camo. We had both been looking right at each other the whole time. I'm sure this will become less of an occurance once we get use to the camo look, but it's still a great improvement over the original camo IMO.

Oh and yeah... turn OFF the old *DBL Map Packs when you host up the new 3.0 Pack. We combined all of the packs into one to make things easier. You can host other mods (MP3, B&G, Remy, etc.) just fine... as far as we know (please post if you discover a conflict). Just make sure that 3.0 is set to have priority over all mods except for Desert Shield (the original game).

problem #1 - the spawnpoints on stronghold are screwed up now, one of them is directly on the wz.

I've been playing on servers with the final map pack and played stronghold without this problem. Are you sure there weren't any other map packs activated on the server you played on Twist? The Final Map pack is the ONLY map pack that should be activated. 1 & 2 dbls are not required with the Final activated. Or was it another gametype perhaps that you were playing?

this map pack is pretty nice. havent tested out the older maps on it yet, to see if there are any changes, but the new maps seem alright.

favourites are Outpost, The Mosque, Barn Day, Mogcity, The Mercenary, and maybe another one or two.

Question: how come some of the better maps that were in the DBL3 Beta were taken out? The Prison and Hammer (i think - the one with the tower in the middle). Were there big problems with these maps or?

Complaint: the preview pictures for Barn Day are actually from the Farm Morning map =) no biggie.

The lighting tool wasn't used on the SWAT Training map, the entire map has an ambient lighting effect going on, also just a warning there are some bad glitches on the map.  Especially around craters and there is a really bad glitch that lets you see through an entire wall.

If this map pack doesn't work with dbl 1 and 2 are we expected to only cb with dbl3?  Will this limitation be corrected?  Thanks...

about glitches ok no report but most of these maps we played them with remy and they are full of it !! it will be hard to play on them without worries!!
but they are nice maps and its cool to have new maps

The mounted machine guns on Mog City don't make any noise when you shoot them.  There is a sound file for them in the -ViP- Mods sound folder.  If you don't fix it people will be able to fire those machine guns like their silenced weapons.  There is one placed right above the WZ which might draw some complaints during the season when people start killing with a silenced mounted machine gun.

Barn Day is Farm Morning, just with the name changed. The name was changed so it wouldn't get confused with the other farm map.

A simple fix to stop the confusion would also be to rename it to "Barn Morning" rather than farm morning

Sorry it's actually the Day version of "The Farm" that's in the Map Pack, not Morning. We will look at changing the preview screen though.

Within the "no restriction" kits the last kit for supporters is a relic of the removed "tac nuke" kit.

please do not choose it because this will crash the game.

this will be fixed.

Ahhh, I thought it was some sort of thing where the browser tells you to wait like a few minutes, but in this case nothing ever happened so I got a tad suspicious.

Well, another mystery solved by BFG, hurray!  :)

You don't need to activate them all (just origimiss) unless you are hosting. Make sure your Mods folder has: Origimiss, MP1, MP2, MP3 along with the DAMN BL Final Map Pack

You don't need MP2 (Island Thunder) and MP3 (not official in any way, somebody simply gave his mod this name...), both are not required for GhR CBing.

i cant even down load the dang thing and have the installer come out right...all i get is the folder with an application in it and a folder....the app is called what its suppoded to be but the icon is a blank peice of paper not the skull icon and i cant open it....the other folder is called __MACOSX and it has absolutely nothing in it...plz help!!!!!!! ??? :o :(

The installer are carbon so correct unstuffed everything should work. May it's something like we experienced in the past where we have already some threads about it.

Should work nevertheless! The installer supports any OS from 7.0 to 10.4.

How large is your zip file when you have downloaded the mod? It should be 189.0MB(199.107.068 Bytes)

the zip i download is 189.8 MB and the file that comes out is 190.8 MB, are those the correct sizes? and i was given the map pack from icculus without the installer and i was told the installer was not nessecary..is this true? and if so how do i put it in the mods folder ( i ahve already put it tin there and im able to activate the mod in ghost recon but whenever i go to play a game it crashes and says "ghost recon unexpectedly quit and nothing was damaged".  so what do i do?  im soo confused plz help me!!!

Yes the installer does nothing else than moving the DAMN BL Final Map Pack folder into the Ghost Recon Mods folder. Then just start GhR and go to your options/mods page and activate the mod.

As the ReadMe already tells - this mod is only designed for adversial multiplayer so may the mission, although they appear in single player, will crash GhR if you try it in SP.

Further make sure that the mod once activated is at the bottom of the list and NOT at the top.

ok so you dont know about eh icon problem?   and when i wen to use the app it would say that it odesnt know which program to use to open it...and it tried to use text edit but nothin happened there...do you know of any program that would  open it?

wolfman its the same thing that happened to me with one of the older mappacks, when i was still on 10.2.8

i needed my dad's PB with 10.3 to unstuff the file, and then sent it back over to my computer. there is a thread about it somewhere - you're not the only one. but besides having someone send you the unstuffed file i dont know what to do.

i have the same f'n problem. It wouldn't unstuff using stuffit expander 5.5(said there was a line error), but i got it to unstuff using stuffit expander 7.0.3, but like wolf. i get a folder w/ a blank piece of paper that says dbl final, and a mac osx folder. i put them into my mod folder and they dont show up to activate.
so whats the answer to get it to work?

hey T, Weird that expander 5.5 has an error w/ the file. says it has an wrong zip heading or something like that. i hate when my mac tries to talk to me. it unstuffed w/ expander 7.0.3. there is something there. a document, (DBL Final installer) that has no icon and a moc osx folder that has another dbl final document (no con as well). when i double click it, it says can't find the document it was created in.
so what gives?

Why don't you download the recent version for 10.2? StuffIt 8.0.2, Version 7 is old, and wtf are you still doing with Version 5? ;) Besides... you can also try it with any programm that unzips .zip files, since the Final Mappack is a .zip. You can find them on Versiontracker.com or MacUpdate.com.
