 [Rogue Spear 1.02 patch!] - [28.11.2001; 6:56:PM by Wrath]

- A new patch for the Mac version of Rogue Spear has been released. You will need to have version 1.01 installed BEFORE applying the patch.
Bug Fixes:
* Problem with crashes in Ruined City multiplayer map.
* Problem when using random maps in multiplayer.
* Added "Use Packed Pixels" option to RS Utility. It's possible that while using an ATI Radeon card that some text in the game will be truncated. Turning off this option should fix that problem, but at the cost of significantly increasing the amount of memory used by the game.

- Rainbowsixcenter.com has done an interview with Nighteye from Rogue Spear Database. It talks about some the RSDatabase and how it started. Here is a clip:
Q. What made you want to make a website for Rogue Spear and when?
A: I was way into Rainbow Six during the spring of 1999 I think it was. A friend got me hooked on it. The multiplayer game play very awesome and very addicting and I loved it. Once I heard of the sequel was coming out, me and another guy decided to start a web site on it, just for fun. The interest in the game and running the web site eventually became what has become of the RSDatabase.
Q. Once you start RSDatabase what were some goals you had for its future? Did any come true?
A:The goal was simply to make a great content-rich web site that people would hopefully want to visit. The goal was the create a site on Rogue Spear that had covered EVERY aspect of Rogue Spear. I think that we partially succeeded, but it did end up being a lot of work, which explains why most of the walk-throughs and such were never completed. At first I also mostly did it just to pick up some HTML skills and learn how to make a great web site. The RSDatabase has always been a non-stop learning experience and I value every moment that I spent on it and what I learned from doing it.

- Well, some things didn't work out the way I would have liked to, but there has been some progress. There are some features that didn't work as I thought. I am sorry, i don't think that I can manage to finish the script this weekend, but I'll put my best effort in it to finish it as soon as possible...

- Well, I'm sad to say the time has finally come. I'm sure most of you have noticed that I am rarely online anymore, so I suppose I should now make it official. Since I have started high school and added a number of responsibilities to my life, I will no longer be able to continue as a member of the *DAMN R6/RS World Staff. I now spend the hours I once spent at rainbow six running cross country and playing in the band. I hope you all continue to have fun without me.
Thank you for many fun memories, and perhaps I may check back and say hello every once in awhile.
Mauti, I'm sure you will find an excellent replacement for me at the modreviews and as a forum moderator. Happy playing all - do have fun. Sorry to contribute to the downfall of the community, but this is my goodbye. C'est la vie!

- Well guys the anniversary movie is finally up and this time the files are ok I have tested them. However I had to split the movie in 2 parts. - so be sure to download both files (42.6MB + 83MB) before you view the movie.
Ace and me have posted two new editorials at the T.E.T section about Assing and the future of the Rainbow Six Community.

- Planet Rainbow Six Site Director Adam "Veritable" Shih says goodbye. After two years managing one of the major R6 websites he decided to go on in his life. I wish him the best for his life and want to thank him again for all things he did for me. With his help I found a new home for *DAMN R6/RS World at the planet .

- The 3rd restart of the *DAMN Battle League comes closer. Read the latest news at the Battle League site.
- Stop at Seductive Media to get a movie that shows the whole tragedy of the 11th september. There are several versions for PC and Mac user. I suggest to view the quicktime version because the flash projector for Mac didn't work properly on my mac.
- About the Anniversary movie: I just reuploaded the movie and download it again to see if everything is ok with the .zip file. I don't know if the download finishes before I have to go back to bootcamp. So maybe the file is avaible only next weekend. We will see.

- DAMN it! It seems that the movie was damaged while I uploaded it. Sorry for all guys who downloaded this huge file to get a corrupted .zip file. I will reupload the movie again in the hope that it works this time because the zip file on my HD is ok.

- May you read some of the quotes about the *DAMN surprise package and were wondering what it is. Well for *DAMNs one year anniversary 13.6.2000 - 13.6.2001 I sent off a 2CD package to all *DAMN members(who dared to tell me their address, hehe) containing all R6 and RS mods and some other conversions as well as Bander's HipHop CD YooBaa Trieb - Stereokillers and also 2 movies. The *DAMN anniversary movie and episode 1 of a very long series of movies I will produce.
Well you can download the introducing *DAMN anniversary movie as a 125.9MB large 10:38min long quicktime movie. This movie shows what *DAMN stands for and who we are and even if you aren't interested in *DAMN as clan you will enjoy Rainbow Six more than ever after seeing it. Mac user get it at the Mac Mod Archive and PC visitor go to the PC Mod Archive and select the anniversary movie from the movie section.(You can also download it from the Mac section without probs because the movie has the same format for Mac and PC)

- I received several mails complaining about fileplanet. Well guys listen I know fileplanet isn't as great as it could be be but fileplanet belongs to GameSpy and gives us a chance to share all our modconversions with you and we don't have to worry about webspace or do you know another free service where we could store our 3Gigabyte of mods!?. Sure to wait in lines for downloading a simple 1MB file isn't cool but it could even worse and at all it works ok. You also have mirrors to choose from. If you want it faster support GameSpy and sign up for a personal server. - it isn't that expensive.
